NFL star Randy Moss has given fans a health update in his first major appearance since he revealed last December that he had been battling cancer.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer and renowned sports commentator sat down for a live stream at the NFL Honors, which took place on Thursday, to present the award for Comeback Player of the Year. He revealed that he is still "Mossing cancer," though he failed to share further details.

Randy Moss revealed his gastrointestinal cancer diagnosis during an Instagram Live, as reported by People Magazine. He was concerned about the color of his urine, prompting him to take a trip to the hospital. Moss shared,

"Y'all know I've told y'all over the last couple of weeks about me battling something internally. Your boy is a cancer survivor... So I did have cancer. They found it in the bile duct right between the pancreas and the liver, and that the cancer was sitting right outside the bile duct."

During his live stream, the former ESPN commentator revealed that he had been put under the knife several times since Thanksgiving, noting that a stent had been put in place in his liver.

Randy Moss also revealed that the Whipple procedure had been done on him, one that tackles tumors in the pancreas, small intestine, and bile ducts, per the Mayo Clinic. Furthermore, he explained that he had been undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.

"Had six-hour surgery. I had a Whipple procedure... Things did take a turn for the worse. I asked for my prayer warriors. I asked for my family to be able to surround me, to put their hands on me through these trying times, and y'all best believe your boy came through."

Randy Moss first revealed that he was facing some issues when he took to Instagram to upload a video in December, though at the time, he did not share further details.

"Throughout the week of the holidays, your boy has been battling something internal," Moss said in the video at the time.

A few days later, it was announced that he would be taking a step back from his role at ESPN to focus on his health in a statement on X.

"For nearly a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, consistently elevating Countdown with his insight and passion. He has ESPN’s full support, and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready," the statement read.

As for his speech on Thursday, Randy Moss said:

"Good evening everybody. How y'all doing? It is great to talk to you tonight. I'm sorry I could not be there in person to join you all, but I want to send a special thank you to all of my doctors, my beautiful wife, my children, my family, my teammates, and all the prayer warriors out there. We are Mossing cancer, and I cannot wait to get back on television with all my guys."

He then presented the Comeback Player of the Year to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

"I am thrilled to present an award that I was honored to win myself back in 2007 with the New England Patriots," he said. "There's no better story in the National Football League than the one about a player who does big things, overcome adversity, and face obstacles, but ultimately find their way back to the mountaintop."

Randy Moss is renowned for having played wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers, and the Minnesota Vikings, though he is most commonly linked with the lattermost.
