Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag were among the many Southern California residents who lost their homes due to the Palisades fire. Following the devastation caused by the wildfires, a GoFundMe page also went live on behalf of the couple, which also garnered them some online backlash.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Spencer Pratt's net worth is around $1 million. Collectively, Spencer and Heidi have an estimated net worth of $2 million, as per the same website. At one point, the couple was reported to have a net worth of $10 million, which apparently went down due to their financial decisions.
Reportedly, the LA house, which Heidi and Spencer lost to the Palisades fire, was worth around $3.8 million in January 2025 (originally costing $2.5 million in 2017). However, the couple shared in an interview on ABC News' Nightline that their house was not insured, as they were dropped from their policy months ahead of the wildfires.
In a separate interview with Us, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag said that they “are not rich celebrities.” Spencer even claimed that his net worth on Google is “$1000.” The pair seeks help from their fans and followers through a GoFundMe page, and they ask everyone to stream Heidi's past music.
Two friends set up a GoFundMe page for Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag
After the reality TV stars lost their home to the Palisades fire, Pratt and her wife got online backlash from a certain section of users for seeking donations through GoFundMe. However, apart from the haters, many of the couple's followers contributed to help them rebuild their home in LA.
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s GoFundMe page was set up by two of their friends from TikTok, namely Brandon and Courtney. According to the campaign page, more than $138K out of the $200K goal has been reached. The campaign also features a message from Spencer Pratt,
“Watching this live will haunt me forever. Definitely one of the worst feelings of my life. Watching all the hard work of the last 15 years go up in flames.”
It continues,
“Everything in our house was paid for by Heidi and I hustling any way we could. EVERYTHING we have worked for was in this house.”
The message further delves into how the couple lost all their family’s memories to the fire and concludes,
“We are starting at zero now. All of our family memories are just that now. No physical connection to any of our family's life journey together.”
Following overwhelming support from the fans via donations, Heidi posted an update on January 12, thanking everyone as she wrote,
“We are beyond grateful for the overwhelming support and kindness we've received in the wake of the Palisades fire. Your generosity has been a light in our darkest days. Whether you donated, purchased Pratt Daddy crystals, streamed and downloaded Heidi’s music, or simply sent your prayers and well-wishes, your actions have given us the strength to carry on as we begin the difficult process of rebuilding.”
Apart from thanking their supporters, the couple also addressed the hate in their Us interview. Spencer Pratt cleared misconceptions about his wealth and net worth, as he was quoted saying,
“Nobody thought we were rich celebrities until three days ago and it’s getting frustrating. Like if you Google ‘Spencer,’ it literally [says] ‘Broke, no net worth.’ My net worth on that site that you search for the last 15 years … has been $1,000."
He continued,
"So now our house burns down, my parents’ house burns down [and] now we’re rich celebrities, which is infuriating because the media, respectfully, has never called us celebrities [and] never called us rich.”
Pratt explained how he and his wife did not have the lifestyle of a rich celebrity couple, which was apparent by their social media activity.
