Sean Daley, a man from Lubbock, Texas, and one of the alleged assailants of NHL announcer and former Phoenix Coyotes hockey player Paul Bissonnette, was reportedly found with a fraudulent military ID at the time of his arrest.

According to multiple reports, the former hockey player was assaulted by a group of men at Houston’s restaurant, located near McDonald Drive and Scottsdale Road, on Sunday, November 24. The assailants arrested during the incident were identified as, Sean Daley, Henry Mesker, John Carroll, William Carroll, Danny Bradley, and Edward Jennings.

When officers searched Daley’s wallet during his arrest, they reportedly found a fake military ID. According to Arizona’s Family, Daley confessed that the ID was fake but did not provide any further insight. It is unclear if Daley, who is reportedly from Lubbock, Texas, was in the military.

However, a Reddit user unearthed a document from the Air Force where a man named Sean Daley was dishonorably discharged in 2021 and sentenced to 24 months in prison. The name in the Air Force document, Sean M. Daley, matches the name cited in the recent arrest records.

Paul Bissonnette was dining at a Houston restaurant when he noticed several intoxicated men, including Sean Daley, arguing with the restaurant manager, who refused to overserve them at the restaurant. The men, who were asked to leave, allegedly became belligerent and began hurling insults at the staff, prompting Bissonnette to step in.

When the former hockey player grabbed the man’s arm before warning him to stop harassing the staff, the verbal altercation quickly escalated into a physical confrontation that spilled out into the parking lot.

Arresting documents say that surveillance footage cited in Arizona Family showed three or four men, including Sean Daley, attacking the NHL announcer outside the restaurant. Daley reportedly held him to the ground and kicked his head and neck area. Bissonnette managed to evade his attackers and was later hospitalized.

The six men were later arrested and charged. According to AZ Family, Sean M. Daley was charged with aggravated assault and forgery and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

Henry Mesker was charged with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct. Mesker was previously arrested in 2021 in Lubbock, Texas, for evading arrest and public intoxication.

John G. Carroll faces a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge. William J. Carroll was booked on charges of two counts of misdemeanor assault and two counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Danny Bradley and Edward J. Jennings were charged with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct.
