Bella Bradford, the 24-year-old TikTok star was diagnosed with Rhandomyosarcona in 2021 and passed away at just 24 years of age from the rare terminal cancer.
She announced the news of her death in a pre-recorded, last Get Ready With Me video on TikTok where she said:
"As we all know, I have terminal cancer and unfortunately, my life has by now come to an end and I passed away..."
The message was shared just a few days following her death, with the caption revealing that she passed away on October 15.
In May, Bella Bradford shared a “Get Ready with Me” video where she opened up about her cancer diagnosis, referring to herself as a 'palliative cancer patient.' At just 22 years old, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer located in her jaw muscle. Although she described her condition as “incurable,” she mentioned that she was receiving a “new treatment” that included surgeries to remove tumors, as well as radiation and chemotherapy.
After experiencing five months in remission, Bella faced another cancer diagnosis. While filming her update, she shared that she was exploring various treatment options.
In her message on TikTok, she wrote:
“Thank you for all your love and support throughout my final stages of life, I am so grateful. Filming these videos truly brought me a sense of purpose in my final few months and also connected me with a very kind community of people... I wish you all a beautiful life and please remember to live each day with as much significance as the next. What a privilege it is to grow old.”
Bella Bradford concluded the heart-breaking video by saying:
“Thank you for allowing me to be myself on this platform, I really felt excited each day to jump on here and connect over our shared love of life and fashion.”
What is Rhabdomyosarcoma? The terminal cancer Bella Bradford suffered from
Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is an uncommon form of cancer that begins in the body's soft tissues, usually the muscles, but can also develop in the bladder, prostate, or even the head and neck. Although it can develop at any age, it is most commonly encountered in children and young people, usually affecting individuals under the age of twenty.
About 3% of all childhood cancers worldwide are rhabdomyosarcomas. One of the more prevalent soft tissue sarcomas in children, about 350 new cases are detected in the U.S. each year. The location, size, and presence the tumor can affect the prognosis, even though treatment choices have improved over time.
Bella Bradford had courageously shared her struggles with rhabdomyosarcoma in several videos where she spoke about surgeries, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and fertility preservation efforts.
In her final video, Bella Bradford delivered a poignant message filled with warmth and encouragement, urging viewers to live each day with purpose and to appreciate the beauty in life's moments, even as she faced the end of her journey.
