Here is what we know about the collision between the Japan Airlines and Delta plane
The X post by Raws Alerts mentioned that the Japan Airlines plane hit the tail of the parked jet while moving on the runway. Delta reportedly confirmed the incident and clarified that no one was on board their aircraft.
Emergency teams responded swiftly, ensuring all passengers from the Japan Airlines flight were safely evacuated. SEA-TAC shared another X post writing:
“All passengers from morning incident involving Japan Airlines flight 68 & Delta Air Lines flight 1921 have been deplaned w/ no reported injuries. Airlines are working to accommodate passengers as needed. Airport response crews will be moving the aircraft off of the ramp taxiway.”
The Delta Flight 1921, a Boeing 737 carrying 142 passengers, was set to travel from Seattle to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The incident occurred as Japan Airlines Flight JL68, which had 172 passengers and 13 crew members, arrived from Narita International Airport in Japan.
Passengers speaking to KING 5 Seattle said the plane almost jolted like a car accident. However, it came to an abrupt stop and Delta’s tail was lodged into the wing.
Everybody was in disbelief given the recent happenings. Nevertheless, a passenger said it was not an issue that could be taken lightly. The FAA will be investigating the incident.
