Brazilian auto influencer Ricardo Godoi, 45, died while undergoing a tattoo procedure being conducted at a hospital in Santa Catarina. Godoi was receiving general anesthesia for a full back tattoo when he experienced cardiac arrest on January 20, 2025, shortly after sedation started.

The doctor called for emergency medical attention and by the time the cardiologist arrived, attempts to revive him proved futile. Godoi was declared dead at noon that day.

Godoi had hired a tattoo studio to carry out the intricate tattoo in a medical facility, to ensure safety during the process. In a statement to Daily Mail, the owner of the tattoo studio described the auto influencer as a "great friend," saying the studio "deeply regrets" his passing. According to what was reported:

“What happened was that, at the beginning of the sedation and intubation, he went into cardiac arrest.”

“That occurred before they even started tattooing him. He was quickly checked and a cardiologist was called in to try to revive him, unfortunately without success.”

Godoi had told his 225k followers on Instagram that he would be back later that day after the operation. His post read:

“I'm about to undergo a surgical procedure and will only be back here after 4pm.”

Authorities are reportedly currently probing the circumstances leading to Godoi's untimely death, leaving his family, friends, and followers in a state of shock.
