A fatal car crash in Shrewsberry, Vermont, claimed the life of a Massachusetts teenager named Macy Piersiak. The accident took place on early Sunday morning and claimed the life of one. While the town is mourning, the investigation of the incident is underway.
According to a press release by Vermont State Police, the officials were notified about a fatal motor vehicle crash at 4:06 a.m. The crash occurred on Cold River Road, near Upper Cold River Road in Shrewsbury, Vermont.
They found that the vehicle's driver was traveling south on the road and could not maintain their lane. The car ultimately hit a guardrail and rammed into a tree head.
In the police release, the driver, Macy Piersiak, was referred to as "Operator #1," and the police report stated:
"Through investigation it was determined Operator #1 (Name withheld) was traveling south on Cold River Road and failed to maintain their lane of travel. Vehicle #1 crossed the centerlines, exited the roadway and struck a guardrail. Vehicle #1 continued on to strike a tree head on. Operator #1 (Name withheld) was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. There were no additional occupants of the vehicle."
Macy Piersiak died at the age of 17. According to her obituary, she is survived by her parents, Mary Beth and Jack, and her three elder siblings, Jack Jr., Kyle, and Cassidy. She was affiliated with Kimball Union Academy (KUA).

According to the obituary, Macy Piersiak's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Needham, Massachusetts, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11 a.m., followed by her interment at the Needham Cemetery.
