In a tragic incident, Jayhee Ju, a 22-year-old North Carolina man, was found dead three days after he was reported missing. The Cary Police Department, who initially sought out the public's assistance in locating the young man announced his death via a Facebook post.
Jayhee Ju disappeared after leaving his parents' residence on River Song Place on November 13, 2024 morning on foot. He was reportedly wearing a navy blue hoodie. At the time, in a Facebook post, police issued a plea for information:
“The Cary Police Department seeks the public's help in locating Jayhee Ju. On 11/13/2024, at approximately 05:00 am, Jayhee left his parents' residence on River Song Place on foot.”
Jayhee Ju was described as a clean-shaven young man with long black hair. Police added:
“He is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 113 lbs. Anyone with information on Jayhee's whereabouts is asked to contact the Cary Police Department at (919) 469-4012 or Cary Crime Stoppers at (919) 460-4636 for anonymous reporting options.”
In a devastating update, the Cary Police announced Jayhee was found dead on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Police who are investigating the circumstances around his death added:
“At this time, foul play is not believed to be a factor as his death appears self-inflicted.”
What we know about Jayhee Ju's disappearance
Jayhee's death has rattled community members who came together to help find the missing man shortly after his disappearance. At the time, a Facebook group Cary North Carolina Information, with over 27,000 members, urged community members to join the search effort. At the time, they wrote:
“Let’s Work Together to Help Find This Child. I sincerely hope this child can be found and safely returned to their loved ones. If you have any information, even the smallest detail, please reach out to them. Your support could make all the difference. Let’s spread this to make a positive impact in this situation.”
Jayhee's parents also issued a plea for help in locating their missing son. At the time, they said:
“Please help us find my son. If anyone can help with searching for my son please come to the Stonewater clubhouse at Sandy Whispers Pl, Cary, NC 27519 at 12 pm today (11/16/24) and tomorrow(11/17/24) at 12 pm.”
It is unclear where he was found. Police are yet to disclose additional information on the case.
