Jack Hoffman, has passed away after a 14-year-long battle with brain cancer. Jack was only seven when he made an unforgettable 69-yard touchdown run during the Nebraska Huskers spring football game. The moment, celebrated by more than 60,000 fans in attendance, went viral and earned him the ESPY award for 'Best Moment' that year.

Jack Hoffman was first diagnosed with brain cancer, at the young age of four. His parents introduced him to Cornhusker football on his fifth birthday, and from that day, he became a lifelong fan, reported Yahoo! News. The bond between Jack and the Nebraska Huskers football team grew strong, with players and coaches rallying around him during his fight.

Since the news of his passing became public, RIP Jack has been trending on X as people band together to pay their respects and condolences at Jack Hoffman's tragic loss. The Team Jack Foundation posted about the news on their X. In a statement, they wrote:

"It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Jack Hoffman. Jack passed away after a long battle with brain cancer, a journey that inspired countless lives and left a legacy of hope, strength, and resilience. Jack Hoffman, you will always be our hero."

The Team Jack Foundation, established by his family, became a symbol of hope and resilience, raising funds and awareness for pediatric brain cancer research.

The Nebraska Huskers also paid tribute on their X account:

"Jack Hoffman embodied what it means to be a Husker every day through his courage, fight, and inspiration. We are heartbroken by his loss and send all our love to the Hoffman family."

US Senator for Nebraska, Pete Ricketts also shared a heartfelt note on his X and shared:

"Jack Hoffman’s life brought hope and inspiration to millions. His 2013 touchdown run captivated the hearts of Husker fans everywhere. His Team Jack Foundation raised millions to support pediatric brain cancer research. And he never lost his joy. He will be deeply missed. Susanne and I are praying for the Hoffman family as they grieve."

Hoffman was pursuing a degree in political science as a freshman at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. The university expressed its deep sorrow over his passing in a heartfelt social media tribute. In a post on X, they wrote:

"It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jack Hoffman, a freshman political science major at UNK. Jack made a significant impact on our campus in his short time here. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. 💙 #TeamJack"
