A shocking incident of family violence has recently disrupted the lives of the North Charleston community as one of the residents named Charles Perry was arrested in connection with the murder of his brother, David Perry.
David Perry was recently reported missing, and the Charleston Police Department began to search for him when they were led to a warehouse of Carolina Sound Communications in North Charleston. Officers began searching the place on Wednesday, December 18, and found David Perry's lifeless body. The primary investigation confirmed that a fatal gunshot wound caused David's death.
The Charleston Police Department, along with NCPD, is further investigating the case.

Upon finding David Perry's body in a Carolina Sound Communications warehouse, investigators identified David's brother Charles Gordon Perry as the prime suspect. The 54-year-old man was arrested and charged with the murder of David and possession of a weapon during the crime.
On Thursday, he was taken into custody and was booked into the AI Canon Detention Center in North Charleston. If Charles is found guilty of murder, he may receive a life sentence without the possibility of release, as well as additional years in prison for possessing a weapon.
As per David's LinkedIn profile, he worked at Carolina Sound Communications for nearly 30 years. Upon his disappearance, some of his friends took to social media to spread the message. According to the social media posts, David was last seen on the afternoon of December 18 near Palmetto Commerce Parkway wearing a blue and white t-shirt. Harve Jacobs, a North Charleston Police spokesperson, stated that the investigation is underway as the police are looking for a motive, and additional details on this case will be released upon further findings.
According to neighborhood people, David was a kind and hardworking man, who also had a strong presence in the community. The reports state that a local resident revealed utter disbelief in this tragic incident as he said,
"I can't believe this happened. They were brothers, and no one would have thought something like this could occur. It's devastating."
Community members, along with several local organizations, have reached out to help the family through this difficult time as the family lost one of its members in a tragic gunshot, while the other member was arrested in connection to the murder. A candlelight vigil is likely to take place in North Charleston to honor the life of David Perry.
Meanwhile, various local organizations specializing in domestic violence prevention are advocating the need for education and resources to help families resolve conflict in nonviolent ways.
