Charissa Thompson, the Fox Sportscaster, has been making headlines once again for rescuing and helping animals amid the LA wildfire. However, last month, she was in the news for her comments about her marriage. The news anchor revealed she has had two divorces and that is also the reason why she does not want children.
Thompson recently appeared on Kylie Kelce's podcast, Not Gonna Lie, and opened up about her two failed marriages. During her conversation with Kelce, she mentioned how she also does not want to have children and she took this decision after facing failure in marriage twice.
For the unversed, Charissa Thompson has confirmed that she first got married at the age of 25. While she did not reveal her ex-husband's name, she added that it was the best and worst decision of her life. The couple parted ways soon after their wedding.
On the other hand, Thompson got married for the second time to baseball agent, Kyle Thousand, in 2020. However, in less than two years the couple went separate ways and were divorced.
Talking about her marriages, the 42-year-old said:
"My choice to not have children grew from my struggle in marriages. What I mean by that is I married the wrong people, plural."
She further mentioned her divorces and revealed that due to the failure in her marriages, she does not want to attach herself to something that would be painful to detach from. Thompson added that the marriages also "created a lot of mistrust and a lot of heartache."
Despite how Thompson is fond of kids, she has decided not to have her own:
"That's a big statement, right? I can get a divorce, I can walk away from those marriages but I can't walk away from children."
How is Charissa Thompson helping animals amid the LA wildfire?
The LA wildfire has already changed the map of the Southern California. Over 38,000 acres have been burnt, while more than 12,000 structures have been damaged. Amid the fire, which is also called the Palisades Fire, thousands of people have safely evacuated their houses. However, Charissa Thompson took the initiative to save animals during the fire.
She has been regularly updating her Instagram handle (@charissajthompson) to ask if any animal needs a temporary home. She also posted information about animal shelters to help people find a safe place for their animals. Thompson has also allegedly begun to recover animals who have been stranded due to the fire.
