David Lane Braff Jr, an assistant principal of Ingenium Charter Middle School in Los Angeles, California, has been arrested for allegedly molesting eight children. Braff has been charged with 17 felony counts. He is accused of reportedly assaulting minors at an elementary school between 2015 and 2019.
According to a news release by the Ventura County District Attorney, the 42-year-old was allegedly arrested on November 22 on charges of "molesting eight children at McKevett Elementary School in Santa Paula." He is facing 17 counts of lewd acts and will be prosecuted on those charges on November 25.
"Braff is also accused of a number of special allegations and aggravating factors in the criminal complaint, including that the crimes involved planning and sophistication and that the children entrusted to the defendant’s care were particularly vulnerable," the release added.
Per the news release, David Lane Braff Jr. worked as a school counselor at MaKevett Elementary from 2015 to 2019. He allegedly molested several children in his office during his tenure. The minors were aged between six and ten years. The investigators began last month.
His entire work history is currently unknown but it is believed that Braff has worked in several schools across southern California.
District Attorney Erik Nasarenko said that Braff has "shattered the trust of parents, educators, and the public."
"We intend to vigorously prosecute this case and encourage others to come forward who may have information about additional victims and crimes. Given the defendant’s history of re-occurring access to children, this investigation and prosecution remains ongoing," he added.
The district attorney's office has also asked anyone who has been victimized by Braff or has witnessed his suspicious behavior to contact them. People who are outside Ventura County can also contact the office.

More details about the case are awaited. Meanwhile, David Lane Braff Jr. is reportedly in custody at Ventura County jail. His bail has been set at $3 million.
