A middle school teacher named Angela Barnes in Keller, Texas, has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with an underage boy. The police have alleged that Barnes had this "inappropriate relationship" throughout June and July 2024.
The Keller Police have narrated the incident in their statement on Facebook. The detectives revealed that Angela, a 45-year-old woman, is facing multiple charges for her alleged relationship with a minor.
"On Monday, Oct. 21, Keller Police detectives arrested 45-year-old Angela Barnes, without incident, on the charges of s*xual assault of a child and improper relationship between an educator and student."
The police further revealed that they came across the situation in late September. Upon investigation, they learned that she allegedly had a s*xual relationship with a former student, which ended after July 2024.
"Keller PD was provided information in late September that Barnes, a Carroll Middle School teacher, was having an inappropriate relationship with an underage boy who was a former student. Detectives began investigating the case immediately and discovered that Barnes was engaged in a s*xual relationship with an underage boy throughout the months of June and July 2024 and that the relationship had since ended," read the statement.
Angela Barnes was booked into the Keller Regional Jail as she faced charges that included s*xual assault of a child and improper relationship between educator and student. However, according to People Magazine, Barnes was no longer in custody as of Monday.
Barnes worked at Carroll Middle School as a teacher. The Carroll school district confirmed to Fox 4 that Barnes was immediately placed on administrative leave after learning about her alleged relationship and reported to the authorities.
Moreover, the school district informed the public of the alleged relationship between Angela Barns and a male student that took place "off-campus over the summer." It further confirmed that "no incidents occurred on CISD campuses." The school district is now working closely with the police as the investigation of the allegations continues.
"The safety and security of all students is always our top priority and any allegations of adult misconduct are addressed promptly and reported immediately to the proper authorities," read the statement.
