On December 30, 2024, Megan Voss, a Waukesha West High School senior, passed away because of the injuries she suffered in a tragic car accident. As a result, donors have set up a GoFundMe account in her honor. This fundraising initiative has raised about $34,000 as of January 1, 2025.
The GoFundMe page is titled In Memory of Megan Voss: Support Her Family. It expressed its sympathies and took it up in the hope that they would secure funds to help out Megan’s family. Beyond her personal qualities, the campaign placed quite a lot of emphasis on her academic performance, stating that she had a 4.0 GPA and that she was an honors student.
The fundraiser is handled by Abigail Voss, Megan’s cousin. The donation description reads:
“Megan was a wonderful and beautiful young woman who touched the lives of those around her. If you ever met Megan then you know she had the biggest smile ever! She was a light to all who knew her. Megan was a 4.0 high honors senior at Waukesha West, on the cheerleading team and had a scholarship to a private Christian college in Arizona where she planned to pursue a nursing degree in hopes to become a doctor one day.”
It also points out that Megan’s dog, Bleu, who was also in the accident and is alive but has quadriplegia in his back legs.
“He’s at an emergency vet currently on heavy sedatives and pain meds.”
The campaign urges:
“During this challenging time, I am hoping to raise support to cover funeral expenses along with any other bills that may arise in addition to vet bills. We ask that you only give as you feel led.”

As reported in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the crash took place in Waukesha, Wisconsin. 17-year-old Megan Voss, who was a student at Waukesha West High School, died in a fatal accident.
According to reports, a motorist smashed into two vehicles at the intersection of East Sunset Drive and Guthrie Road in Wisconsin around 7:30 p.m. Megan was involved in multiple vehicle collisions that have raised concerns about careless and inebriated driving.
The Waukesha Police Department reported that the crash started when a 19-year-old man was speeding on East Sunset Drive. Several witnesses pointed out that the driver violated the stop sign and continued to ram into two vehicles.
Mike Masch, an eyewitness, told Fox6:
"My daughter said, ‘Dad, dad! There’s a horrible accident.’ The car was up on the curb, you try to get her to wake up and she was unresponsive."
"I held her hand and I said, ‘Mam, mam, mam.’ Nothing. The dog, that’s when he tried to jump out and I got the blood on me."
The consequences were severe enough since one of the cars involved in the accident turned over.
Consultants and paramedics came early and evacuated Megan using the services of Flight For Life to Froedtert Hospital, yet she died shortly after her arrival as her injuries were critical.
The driver engaged in the accident showed symptoms of drunkenness and was later arrested on a conduct charge of homicide for drinking and driving.
