Parenting influencer Hannah Hiatt, known to her followers as nurse Hannah Hiatt, sparked concern online after a now-deleted TikTok video showed her young son flinching as his father approached him in a grocery store. Shortly after the video was posted online, several netizens speculated the child’s reaction might be an indication of fear or trauma stemming from child abuse.
Their assertion stemmed from another video shared last month that showed the 17 dirty diapers strewn around her house, triggering allegations of child neglect. However, Hiatt said she was suffering from postpartum depression after the birth of her second child.
In the wake of the flinching video that triggered a volley of concerning comments and speculation online, a TikToker, Anthony Blackwell, claimed he sent Child Protective Services (CPS) to check up on the kids after locating Hannah's home address. Anthony alleged that CPS informed him they had received multiple reports of Hannah Hiatt but did not confirm if they’d launched an active investigation.
However, shortly after, TikToker Autumn News uploaded a video claiming Hannah Hiatt’s arrest. The video did not provide any evidence to support the claim but shared multiple clips from Hannah’s old videos, one of which showed her son James reaching for a French fry during a family meal and her husband Braxton seemingly swatting his hand away.
However, there is no proof that Hannah Hiatt was arrested. Hiatt or any other media reports have not confirmed the same.
Does Hannah Hiatt work at Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital?
Hannah Hiatt, a traveling nurse from Ogden, Utah, first went viral for going 35 weeks without prenatal care and claiming expecting mothers don't need them.
A Facebook group titled "You Know You're From Ogden If" alleged in one of the videos that Hannah allegedly refused to let her son eat and deprived him of a coat that cost $35 despite her walking around in clothing that cost $1500. Another social media user echoed the allegations and claimed via Facebook post:
“James was also hospitalized as a baby for a UTI and severe diaper rash and she now has another newborn along with James. James always has new bruises or marks on his face. In one TikTok, Braxton goes to hand him something and the child quite literally braces for impact at his dad’s hands coming toward him.”
A Reddit user claimed they reported Hannah Hiatt to CPS. They further alleged:
“DCFS REACHED OUT TO ME. they are escalating my claims with videos and photos to the child abuse and neglect center. Where a specialist in this matter should be contacting me the next day after reviewing all evidence.”
Several users also claimed she worked as a nurse at Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital, encouraging people to doxx her workplace. However, this is false. Hannah Hiatt is a traveling nurse.
Hannah Hiatt denies online allegations
The old TikTok clips, compounded with the recent video of her child flinching after Hiatt's husband Braxton walked toward the boy (James), triggered a wave of concern and speculation online for the well-being of her kids. Hiatt has two kids: a toddler son, James, and a two-month-old baby.
Several netizens branded her Ruby Franke 2.0. A parenting YouTuber, Ruby Franke is currently serving prison time on child abuse charges. The accusation prompted Hiatt to respond to the accusations, saying:
"To be compared, right now, to Ruby Franke is absolutely comical. It's hilarious, really. We live in a world nowadays where people will turn nothing into something."
She went on to assure that her kids are healthy in a video dated November 29.
"They're healthy, well-nourished. they're running around playing. That should be a pretty good indicator that everything's just fine."
Hiatt also defended her husband, saying:
"My husband is the sweetest, nicest, kindest, most-loving, most-nurturing father in the entire world. He's on the ground playing with James like 90 percent of the day."
