A re-shared post from Nick Fuentes X account alleging he was banned from RedNote has gone viral and triggered a barrage of reactions online. For the unversed, the Chinese app recently witnessed an uptick in American users as TikTok was banned from the country on January 19.

The far-right influencer was one of the users who subscribed to the app. On January 17, 2025, Nick Fuentes alleged he had been banned from RedNote.

In a post on X, he wrote:

“China banned me from RedNote.I didn’t even post anything yet.”

Shortly after TikTok shutdown in the US on January 19, 2025, social media user Max, reshared Fuentes's post alleging:

“RedNote is banning people just for being g*y.”

It should be noted Fuentes has not divulged his s*xual orientation. However, according to the Texas Tribune, Fuentes has been vocal about his aversion to women and the LGBTQ+ community in the past. Recently, he was under fire over an inflammatory post against women, saying “Your body my choice” after Trump’s election win.

While there are reports alleging the app has suspended accounts over mentioning LGBTQ+ identities, Fuentes was not banned from the short-form video platform that also moonlights as an e-commerce site.

After Fuentes alleged China banned him from the app, he wrote:

“Wait never mind they just reset my profile for some reason?”

Shortly after, Andrew Tate reacted to the post saying “Your profile. Their choice. Forever.” Fuentes replied:

“Unlike r*pe this is not a laughing matter.”

Internet reacts as viral post claims Nick Fuentes was banned from RedNote over s*xual orientation

On January 19, 2025, a social media user alleged Far-right influencer Nick Fuentes was banned from RedNote over his s*xual orientation. Fuentes has not come out as a homos*xual man. However, a video that surfaced online in December 2024 alleged Fuentes was engaged in an intimate encounter with streamer Destiny. Nick Fuentes denied the allegations, reminding everyone of his long-standing feud with the streamer.

The post alleging Fuentes was banned from the app over s*xual orientation came after TikTok officially shut down in the United States. The post amassed over 700,000 views and triggered a wave of mixed reactions online. Reacting to the post, a social media user quipped:

“Jesus the Chinese know about Destiny and his cat boys?!”
Another added: “I guess China isn't all bad.”
A user noted “Awesome! Based. Makes me consider downloading the app.”

However, a netizen, highlighting Nick Fuentes's follow-up post saying that he wasn’t banned, wrote:

“Pretty sure he followed up and said he isn't?”

While Nick Fuentes was not banned from the Chinese app over “being g*y,” it should be noted The Advocate reported that the Chinese app does have harsh restrictions, including suspending accounts that allegedly mention LGBTQ identity.

A social media post with over 17 million views alleged:

“Chinese app is removing LGBT+ content and suspending accounts.”

Social media account End Wokeness added:

“Liberals are flocking to RedNote, an app-controlled by China, to replace TikTok. Turns out, they ban LGBTQ content, all inappropriate outfits, & only 2 genders.”

However, several app users claimed this was false. A social media user noted:

“RedNote is full of LGBTQ+ content and Luigi fan art. Nice try, US oligarchs.”

Meanwhile, TikTok issued a statement on January 19, saying the app would temporarily shut down operations in the US as Trump considers a 90-day extension on the ban.
