Alligator sightings are pretty common in Florida, as they often enter residential areas in proximity to wetlands.
Recently, a similar incident happened at an Ave Maria home in Florida, where an alligator was seen walking around. A bystander, Stacy Thrasher, filmed the gator on her neighbor’s front porch. Later, Matt Devitt (@MattDevittWX), chief meteorologist for WINK-TV (also branded as WINK News), posted the clip on social and wrote,
“FLORIDA GATOR SURPRISE! 🐊 Check out this guy walking right up to the front door of this home in Ave Maria today. Why it pays to always look out the window first in Florida! Credit: @WINKNews viewer Stacey T”
Netizens were quick to react to the alligator, and a person even said sarcastically,
“Hes just cold trying to find a place to warm up.”

Although alligators are usually menacing, it didn’t stop the netizens from having some fun with their replies on X. Users came up with humorous responses to the alligator situation in Ave Maria.
“He obviously lives there. How about giving him some privacy,” a user wrote.
“He's looking for trouble. He's an instigator,” another user joked.
“Let me see if they got any snacks,” someone responded.
“It's just a guy trying to sell people solar panels......All good,” another one added.
A user posted,
“Can I borrow a cup of sugar?”

“Still just a puppy.”
However, the survival instincts did kick in for some netizens, as they gave their opinions on the Florida alligator situation.
“Nope!!!!!!!! Selling the house. Moving. Nope!!!!!!,” a user claimed.
“I would not film it... I will run away !!!,” another used chimed in.
“Holy moly!! I’d get the little dog out of there…,” someone displayed their worries for the dog in the clip.
“And whomever is filming this is crazy asf! Two leaps and that phone, dog and then are gone. These things are soooo quick!,” another one noted.
As mentioned, the gator was spotted by an Ave Maria resident, Stacy Thrasher. She was outside, walking her dog (seen in the video), when she spotted an estimated six-foot-long 400 lbs alligator on her neighbor’s property. The reptile was seemingly observing a dog statue on the front porch and continued walking around. Thrasher told WINK-TV,
“I heard a big, swishing noise, and so I looked to my left to see what it was, and sure enough, there was an alligator sitting right there.”
It is not the first time a gator was spotted in the area, as claimed by another homeowner, John. He told WINK-TV that another alligator had been seen months ago,
“How can you come back twice? You know? Because this happened, I don’t know, back eight, nine months ago, something like that. And that time, he climbed up in the chairs, kind of made himself at home.”
The TV channel also reported that the home where the alligator was spotted is currently on sale.
