The recent wildfires have damaged many LA landmarks like Topanga Ranch Motel, Palisades Charter High School, and many more.

According to the authorities, the Palisades fire alone has destroyed more than 1,000 structures across Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, and nearby regions. Other wildfires, including Eaton, Hurst, and more, have also created significant devastation in Los Angeles, forcing thousands of residents to flee for survival.

Palisades Charter High School, which is not in session due to winter break, was set ablaze on January 7. At the same time, the iconic Will Rogers State Historic Park faced severe damage after the fire broke out. Located at the Santa Monica Mountains of Pacific Palisades, the stables and Will Rogers' house at the state park were destroyed due to the Palisades fire.

Besides Will Rogers State Historic Park, the fire reached the Getty Villa Museum. Although the museum's premises were confirmed to be safe, the vegetation at the landmark reportedly had caught fire. The neighboring Topanga State Park also recorded notable damage, including destroying the Topanga Ranch Motel.

Apart from the Topanga Ranch Motel, structures like Theatre Palisades, local churches, two elementary schools, and more were damaged due to the wildfires. The homes of Hollywood celebrities like Paris Hilton, James Wood, Leighton Meester (and Adam Brody), and many more were reportedly burnt during the Los Angeles fires.

Like Pacific Palisades, the Eaton fire also caused destruction on a large scale. The Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center, Altadena Golf Course, Descanso Gardens, and more were among the well-known LA landmarks that got destroyed due to the wildfires, along with many local homes and vehicles. The Eaton fire has also claimed the lives of five residents so far.

Topanga Ranch Motel and Will Rogers' house were destroyed after the state park closures on January 7

The famed Topanga Ranch Motel and Will Rogers' ranch house were among the two historical structures blazed on January 7. After the wildfires broke out in the morning, Topanga State Park and Will Rogers State Historic Park were shuttered, citing the threat.

As per the authorities, the fire reached Topanga State Park in the afternoon, destroying Topanga Ranch Motel and other key structures. In the evening, Will Rogers' ranch house and other structures at Will Rogers SHP faced the fire threat.

Issuing a statement on the devastation incurred by both landmarks, State Parks Director Armando Quintero was quoted saying,

"California State Parks mourns the loss of these treasured natural and cultural resources, and our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the devastating fires in the Los Angeles area. Since yesterday afternoon, we are directing all available resources into the emergency response effort and working to secure and protect as much as we can at affected nearby state parks. We are deeply grateful to our parks staff and all partner agencies for their swift actions. Our top priority remains the safety of the public, our employees and the responders bravely battling the fires."

Topanga Ranch Motel, Will Rogers' ranch house, and state park employee residences were among the 30+ structures destroyed at "Topanga SP and Will Rogers SHP."

Getty Villa, which is close to both state parks, is also facing the fire threat and is currently closed. Similarly, the closure of Hollywood Bowl, The Magic Castle, and The Comedy Store have also been confirmed due to the Sunset fire.

For the uninitiated, the iconic Hollywood Sign, Griffith Park Observatory, and Universal Studios have also been closed for safety concerns.

For the uninitiated, there has been 0% containment of the Palisades and Eaton fire, with the wind gusts contributing to accelerated growth. The Sunset fire, which broke on January 8, has further contributed to the dangers in the affected area. At the time of the writing, the collective area affected by all wildfires across California is nearing 30K acres.
