Former Montreal transplant Tim Darcy's home was one of many decimated in the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, forcing him and his partner, Amy Fort, to initiate a fundraising campaign.

Darcy is most known as a member of the Canadian rock groups Cola and Ought. The fires have been ravaging the Golden State, pushing over 155,000 out of their homes and claiming the lives of at least five. Several celebrities and musicians have lost their homes apart from Darcy, including Zachary Cole Smith and Fat Tony.

Tim Darcy pens a heartfelt vote of thanks to all of his patrons, says the support has been "unbelievable"

In the wake of Tim Darcy and his partner losing their home, a GoFundMe page has been launched to ease their financial strain:

"On Wednesday January 7th, Amy Fort and Tim Darcy and their pup Zuzu's home burned to the ground in the Eaton Fire in Altadena. Thankfully they are safe, but will need to begin rebuilding their lives, replacing their possessions, and finding a new place to live," the page reads. "Amy and Tim are two of the kindest, most generous, talented, special, beautiful people. Let's come together and help them recover from this devastating event. We know they would do the same for us."

At the time of writing, out of the $50,000 goal, about $47,000 has been raised with alms coming in from 573 patrons. The page only has 6% to go to complete their goal.

The launch of the page comes as the fires continue to rage on, leaving 180,000 evacuees stranded. DIIV's Zachary Cole Smith has also been forced to launch a GoFundMe page, as the frontman was forced to abandon his home and flee with his pregnant wife and two-year-old son. The musician reportedly lost his car and instruments in the fire, among other things.

The page managed to raise over $30,000 as of Thursday, prompting the singer to issue the following vote of thanks:

"The depth of kindness we have experienced today from our friends, our family, our neighbors, fellow parents, fellow [A]ltadena residents, and complete strangers has been truly unbelievable. we are just one of many, many families who have lost their homes today. some of the most profound kindness we’ve experienced today has been from other families who lost their homes as well. we are not alone, which has brought us a lot of sadness but also a strange sense of comfort and community.”

Fellow musician cum rapper Fat Tony has also launched a fundraising campaign as his Altadena home was left scorched.

Tim Darcy joins the growing list of celebrities who have lost their homes to the flames, including Mandy Moore, Kid Cudi, Grimes, and Clairo.
