The Butte County Sheriff's Office is continuing its search for two missing duck hunters, last seen in the Thermalito Afterbay, a diversion pool downstream of Lake Oroville. The two missing teens have been identified as brothers Wes and Dru by their mother April Clark on Facebook who said they were out duck hunting on their kayak.
In the post, April Clark the mother of the boys says that the younger brother Wes fell off the kayak, and the older brother Dru first attempted to contact 911 for help but eventually jumped in the water to save his brother and also disappeared.
As reported by Action News Now, the search efforts involve BCSO patrol deputies, detectives, aviation, and search and rescue teams, along with assistance from the Yuba County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit, CAL FIRE, and the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
A person on the rescue team named Jared Foster shared a video of him on Instagram, mobilizing search equipment and sharing the message about the missing teen brothers near Thermalito Afterbay.

A Facebook post on the Butte County Fires, Accidents, Crimes (BCFAC) discussion section, gave an update about the incident. According to the bio of the page, BCFAC describes itself as a platform that provides a place to post firsthand accounts and media regarding fires, accidents, and crimes occurring in Butte County, California'. The post shared by the group admin Karla K Larsson stated:
"According to April Clark, mother of the missing boys, 17-year-old Wes went out in the kayak to retrieve a duck and overturned. When his 19-year-old brother, Dru, saw Wes in distress, he called 911 and then went into the water to try and save him. Unfortunately, both brothers remain missing."
As per the same BCFAC Facebook post, search teams have yet to locate the teens after they vanished near Thermalito Afterbay, despite finding their dog, kayaks, and belongings nearby.
The Butte County Sheriff's Office has mobilized several resources, including aerial units, rescue teams, and marine units, to thoroughly search the area, including the Oroville Wildlife and the Thermalito Afterbay area.
A Facebook post made by the mother of the missing teen brothers, April Clark reads:
"Please lord please I’m begging u let my boys be found safe please lord. It can’t be a recovery now lord let them be found safe I need them lord they have so much life left to live I’m on my hands and knees begging lord I need my boys my world."
A user on Facebook also shared a video of the boys going diving along with some other pictures, urging people to help spread the message. The post said
"Please share the hell out of this!!!! These young boys are missing and I’ve barely seen any media coverage on it. Their mom is worried sick. Pray over them and their loved ones."
The search for both brothers Wes and Dru continues as authorities comb through the Oroville Wildlife and Thermalito Afterbay area.
