“There are new sightings of her” — Missing Hannah Kobayashi’s family say police have new “credible leads”

According to reports, the family of Hannah Kobayashi, a 30-year-old who went missing from Los Angeles on November 8, revealed that there was new footage where Hannah was sighted in Downtown Los Angeles. As reported by The Maui Daily, Larie Pidgeon, a relative, said,

There are new sightings of her. The police are following really, really credible leads.

This new footage has not yet been released to the public. Her family did not want to provide further information on the footage because they did not want to sabotage the investigation.

Hannah's family in Maui, while worried about Hannah, is also dealing with the loss of Ryan Kobayashi, Hannah's father. Ryan, who flew to LA soon after his daughter went missing, was found dead by the police on November 24. According to an autopsy, Ryan Kobayashi died of suicide.

According to CNN, citing her sister, Hannah Kobayashi was traveling from her hometown in Hawaii to New York and planned to attend events and meet friends and family. But, unfortunately, on November 8, she missed her connecting flight to New York from Los Angeles International Airport, and since then is missing.

The next day, on November 9, she was spotted at a Book shop at The Grove shopping center. On November 10, she was spotted in a short video uploaded on YouTube, attending LeBron's XXII Trial Experience event at the Grove. November 11 was the last day anybody ever heard from Hannah Kobayashi.

Based on the latest CCTV footage obtained, Hannah was seen at Pico Metro Station on November 11. According to Hannah's family, she appeared to be with someone and looked like she was not in good shape.

The same day, her family got messages from her saying she was scared someone was trying to steal her money. Later, a US Sun exclusive revealed that she had sent money to two people, a man and a woman, whom her family did not recognize.

One of the text messages from Hannah Kobayashi obtained by CNN and reads as follows,

Deep Hackers wiped my identity, stole all of my funds, & have had me on a mind f**k since Friday.

Another one read,

I got tricked pretty much into giving away all my funds(...)For someone I thought I loved.

On November 13, 2024, Hannah's family in Maui filed a missing person's report. And the LAPD created a missing poster for Hannah on November 15.

After she went missing, her father, Ryan, came to LA and searched for his daughter for about two weeks, but he was later found dead by the police on West Century Boulevard On November 24, CNN reported.

The investigation into Hannah Kobayashi's disappearance is continuing. The Maui police department, in their Facebook post, informed the public that they are also assisting the LAPD in the investigation into Hannah's disappearance.
