After an interesting election day in the US, Donald Trump is all set to return to the White House as he won against Kamala Harris in the presidential race. With his potential big win, Trump has scripted history as he became the first Republican in the last 20 years to secure the popular vote. The last Republican to do so was George W Bush in 2004.

Trump's path to victory was fueled by his win in the three swing states, including Pennsylvania. His electoral votes have come to tally 267 with only three left for him to secure the winning position. On the other hand, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris is trailing with 224 electoral votes.

In 2004, George W Bush won over 62 million votes and 286 electoral votes compared to John Kerry with 59.028 million votes and 251 electoral votes.

The last US President to achieve the popular vote was Barack Obama with 69.5 million votes made 52.9 percent in 2008. So far, Trump has already secured 51.1 percent with which he has made history for his party.

Netizens are celebrating Trump's set victory and popular vote. Many are claiming "the people have spoken" on the internet.

Netizens celebrate Donald Trump's popular vote

Netizens supporting Donald Trump are elated to see him potentially reclaim the White House. An X (formerly Twitter) user wrote:

"They made us feel crazy for supporting him. Like we were bad people for it. Trying to divide us. And then it was a landslide. WITH the popular vote. Never trust the legacy media. The people have spoken."

Another claimed that half of the country voted for Trump:

"Popular vote and electoral college. It’s official. The Democrat party did this to themselves. You can’t call half the country garbage and nazis without a strong reaction. Bad move."

A user called Trump the "mean, orange man" and mentioned how he won the house.

"Democrats lost the House, Senate, electoral college, AND popular vote... Newsflash: It's not the 'mean, orange man.'"

One wrote,

"Republicans won the House, Senate, Electoral College AND Popular vote today. If you don’t see that the majority of the country has a serious distrust for the DNC at this point I don’t know what to tell you. The people have woken up and want change."

The Democratic Party supporters are unhappy with Donald Trump's potential win. Final results of the Presidential elections are awaited.
