The LA wildfires, which started on 7 January, have scorched over 25,000 acres across Los Angeles County, with the Palisades Fire alone burning more than 15,832 acres. More than 1,000 structures, predominantly homes, have already been destroyed, marking these fires as among the most destructive in the region's history.

GoFundMe has created a parent page for verified fundraisers that have cropped up to help people affected by the Pacific Palisades, Sylmar, and Altadena wildfires in Los Angeles County. Apart from that, GoFundMe is also organizing a fundraiser titled Wildfire Relief Fund 2025 to provide direct relief to people in need after a wildfire.

The Giving Block has also listed some nonprofits that have been directly helping in Los Angeles Wildfires relief efforts, like the San Diego Humane Society, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, First Responders Children's Foundation, Global Empowerment Mission, All Hands and Hearts Smart Response Inc., and Direct Relief.

Effects of the LA wildfires

With the devastations surmounting, the LA wildfires have led to hazardous air quality levels across Southern California, affecting around 17 million residents and posing significant health risks.

As reported by the Associated Press, mandatory evacuation orders have been issued for over 100,000 residents, with areas like Pacific Palisades, Calabasas, and Santa Monica heavily impacted.

The LA wildfires flames marched toward highly populated and affluent neighborhoods, including Calabasas and Santa Monica, home to California’s rich and famous. Hollywood stars, including Mark Hamill, Emmanuel Acho, Mandy Moore, Paris Hilton, and James Woods, were among those forced to flee.

According to PowerOutage.us, which monitors outages around the US, over 1.5 million consumers in Southern California were without power, with roughly a million of those customers in Los Angeles County.
