On December 23, 2024, a video of a woman assaulting a Chipotle worker while forcibly taking food to make her own Burrito bowl because they allegedly got her UberEats order wrong was circulated on the internet after a user posted it on X, and the internet has a lot to say.
The altercation began with the woman asking for a refund accusing the employees of messing up her delivery order and the workers informing her that it is UberEats that provides the refund not them. According to reports, the employees alleges that they did not get her order wrong.
The internet was divided yet again on the issue with some sharing the sentiment that Chipotle is not worth getting jail time,
Ruining your life over a burrito bowl. Unbelievable.- remarked a user on the incident.
Nothing at Chipotle is that tasty for all this…- another user chimed in.
Meanwhile, many share the sentiment that taking the anger out on the Chipotle workers was not the right choice, while others also jokingly taunted the Chipotle workers for trying to stop the woman as they believed the workers don't make enough to defend their company,
I will never understand employees making $12 an hour fighting customers to save a billion-dollar corporation. I would have went on break until she made her bowl.- Another user on the Chipotle incident
Chipotle workers do NOT get paid enough to deal with this shit- an X user @kirawontmiss stated in their post.
A few were also in support of the woman because they believed Chipotle exploits its customers by not giving them food portions worth the money,
Details on the Chipotle assault incident
According to reports citing Roberto Hernandez, the worker who was assaulted by the woman, on December 21, 2024, the lady came into Chipotle in Brentwood, Washington, and asked for a refund after she accused them of getting her UberEats order of a "double meat Burrito Bowl" wrong.
When informed that they could not give her a refund because the refunds are usually issued by Uber Eats, she pushed employees out of her way and started making herself a bowl. Roberto Hernandez, an employee of the food chain, then checks the woman's order receipt and notices that they didn't get her order wrong.
And when an employee, reportedly Roberto Hernandez, tries to take the bowl away from her, she throws the bowl at him. It is further reported that she left the store with a second bowl. According to WUSA9, Hernandez also alleges that she continued to give death threats to him online.
Yesterday, she was saying, ‘I’m going to come back and stab them and take their life.
Furthermore, the woman in the video alleges that the employees attacked her first and she only went behind the counter after they refused to make her another bowl. She also alleged that the video circulating online was cut short.
According to WUSA 9, the food chain has filed a complaint against the woman for the attack against their employee. Meanwhile, the woman also reportedly told the outlet that she plans to sue Chipotle.
