The Dallas County police station reportedly 'arrested' the Grinch in a playful festive spirit for stealing Santa Claus' gifts on Christmas Eve. As the holiday season approaches and Santa makes his arrival, the Grinch, the infamous anti-icon of Christmas, has also made his way to central Iowa.

The person in a Grinch costume was reportedly 'arrested' as a Christmas tradition for stealing Christmas gifts along with his dog Max at the H-E-B store on Spring Cypress Road.

The police responded to the scene after reports of an alleged disturbance at the H-E-B store. Upon arrival, they 'arrested' the suspect, identified the individual dressed as The Grinch from Whoville, and charged him with a class B felony.

Deputies Ramirez and Horelica were quick to take the suspect into custody, and no further incident of disturbance was reported.

The notorious anti-Christmas figure, The Grinch, is known for causing disturbance during the holiday season. The Grinch, known for his abhorrence of Christmas, is a familiar face in the community, where every year during Christmas, an individual dressed as The Grinch makes his appearance and causes intentional disturbance.

Previously, the residents of the community witnessed this playful skit between the police and The Grinch; however, this was the first time The Grinch was 'arrested'.

"Today, Deputies Ramirez and Deputy Horelica with Constable Mark Herman’s office responded to the 14100 block of Spring Cypress Road in reference to a habitual nuisance who was in the store causing a disturbance," Herman wrote on Facebook confirming it was The Grinch disguising in a Santa costume.

The Grinch's arrest left people all over the internet baffled with multiple people wondering whether the incident was real or stagged.

"Please tell me this is staged," one user wrote.
"You gotta love Texas! Absolutely ZERO tolerance for shoplifting! Not even the Grinch is above the law," someone commented.
"This is a total skit. No way they would allow him to keep his costume gloves on if this was a real arrest," another user wrote.
"Will they let them keep their mask and outfit on for the mugshot?" one user questioned.
"people will do anything for content," another wrote.
"Christmas is saved," someone else wrote.

As per the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, the police 'arrested' Grinch, the suspect, and his dog Max on Tuesday morning as a part of the skit. The police released Max later on Tuesday evening with treats for his good behavior. The Grinch still remains in custody without a bond, and he is due to appear in court on December 25.

Apart from Dallas County, Iowa, The Grinch also made his yearly appearances in multiple states to cause usual disturbance. In Aurora, Missouri, The Grinch was sighted by the Walmart, making a lot of noise and fuss.

In Aurora, Illinois, multiple people called 911 after The Grinch reportedly tried to steal the city's Christmas tree. The Grinch was 'arrested' in Salem, Ohio as well. The arrests were made by the police in a festive spirit to welcome the holiday season.

"Heart wasn't the only thing that grew three sizes; his list of offenses did too," the Salem Police Department wrote on Facebook.

The Grinch made his appearances in various other states, including Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Texas, to continue the Christmas tradition and to wreck the holiday spirit. However, the police departments across these states did a great job in stopping The Grinch, and ultimately they saved Christmas.
