As per the Review Journal, Jennaleah left home on December 30, 2024, following an argument at home, and never came back. According to the Henderson Police Department, the argument was about her relationship with her boyfriend.

At the candlelight vigil, Jennaleah's mother, Jennifer Swanson, was deeply mourning the loss of her daughter as reported by KSNV.

"You never know how much a child is hurting," she said. "I don't think we could ever recover because our home is broken without her. I walk daily in my home searching for her," she added.

Swanson also requested the attendees pray for their families to get through this tough time. Jennaleah's stepfather Corey Swanson, and her 15-year-old sister, Hazeljoy Hin, along with other family members, attended the vigil.

"She was on her way to success, but unfortunately, there were things deeper thoughts she had that I never knew," Jennifer Swanson said. "I would appreciate it if you could continue to pray for us. Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to be here, and Jennaleah, thank you for being the perfect girl," she concluded.

Jennaleah's stepfather Corey Swanson, also mourned the loss as he said,

"Our home is broken without you. I love you, Jenna."

Corey Swanson, who is a police officer at the North Las Vegas Police Department, suspected Jennaleah of taking his gun when she left home on December 30, 2024.

As per the Henderson Police Department reports Corey stated he believed that the gun that killed the Nevada teen was his Glock 43 handgun, which was missing when Jennaleah left home.

"Jenna was a loving soul who simply wanted to be loved. She had the potential to live a beautiful, long, and happy life," Jennaleah's father stated on the GoFundMe campaign post. "Jenna was truly a wonderful person, both in heart and in spirit. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will forever live on in our hearts," he added.

The investigation into the death of the Nevada teen, Jennaleah, is still ongoing, and the Henderson Police Department has not yet disclosed any further information.
