In a recent Fox News interview Ohio fitness influencer Michelle Bishop alleged her business, The Ladies Edge, was bombarded with death threats after black real estate agent DaMichael Jenkins doubled down on an allegation on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast. Bishop made headlines last week over a viral video that alleged she racially profiled a black family.
Brittany Jenkins, the wife of black real estate developer DaMichael Jenkins, posted footage on January 18, 2025, of an incident that occurred on the night of November 19. The footage showed a white woman confronting Jenkins' husband and refusing to believe that he lived in the affluent Ohio neighborhood before running down the street screaming for help. The video triggered a wave of backlash online, with several people labeling the woman as a “racist.”
Shortly after, the woman took to her public Facebook account and identified herself as Michelle Bishop before denying the racist allegations. Bishop alleged she was unaware of Jenkins’ race at the time of the incident due to the poorly lit street.
Shortly after DaMichael Jenkins and his wife appeared on Nightcap podcast hosted by Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco. The wife was allegedly impelled to post the video online after the homeowners association ghosted her. The couple alleged they never received a sincere apology from anyone after the incident.
However, in a Fox News interview, the Ohio fitness influencer refuted the claims, saying she had apologized multiple times to the couple who refused to accept. Bishop claimed the couple doubling down on the allegations has only led to more death threats against her family and her business, The Ladies Edge, prompting temporary closure.
Michelle Bishop the founder of The Ladies Edge has been a fitness influencer for over a decade
In a recent Fox News Interview, Michelle Bishop alleged despite apologizing multiple times Jenkins' family, who would not accept the apology, posted the video on a local neighborhood Facebook group. Bishop, who supposedly was under the impression the issue was resolved, was allegedly blindsided by the video, which was picked up by the media, triggering a barrage of hateful messages against her family and her business.
Bishop alleged The Ladies Edge received “hundreds, if not thousands, of threats.” She added:
"Our businesses have seen massive devastation, one of them having to close temporarily due to death threats, calling into our shop, saying that they are going to kill every last one of the employees. So it is affecting us in massive ways."
Michelle Bishop, a fitness influencer for over a decade, began sharing posts on her social media accounts, amassing over 190,000 followers on Instagram.
According to a Reddit discussion forum three years ago, she was an OG influencer who started her brand The Ladies Edge a decade ago but lost several followers over a few controversies, including promoting the alleged cult-like supplement brand Advocare. A Reddit user alleged:
“I used to follow her but then she got really into religion. Not that it's an issue but literally speaking in tongues."
A Reddit user noted "Apparently there has been a lot of controversy in her fb group and people are leaving. She was a advocare hun before they eliminated their MLM model."
Another added:
“Ohhh I followed her when she was into bodybuilding and really liked her but unfollowed when the religion started getting too much? Just went to her page and these workouts look so erratic?? I could never.”
The Ladies Edge owner's video triggers support
After a Fox News Interview where Bishop claimed she had apologized multiple times to the couple and reiterated her stance that she was unaware of Jenkins’ race, her The Ladies Edge Instagram post was flooded with a barrage of supportive comments. A social media user said:
“I’m sorry that you and your family are going through this. You shouldn’t have to apologize numerous times. You did what you had to protect yourself & your babies.”
Another added:
“It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see the horrible, undeserved things being said to you and your family—especially the threats, which are beyond disgusting.”
DaMichael Jenkins reportedly did not respond to the Fox News interview.
