Authorities have made public the harrowing words of Oaklynn Alexander, a seven-year-old girl who was kidnapped by her armed father, during a confrontation with the police. In it, she can be heard pleading with him not to end her life, saying she didn't "want to go to heaven."

In the audio, Oaklynn Alexander can be heard saying, as her father demands to speak with her mother, Ashley Matthews, and threatening to shoot his daughter and then himself if he doesn't get his way:

"Please don’t. [Are we] both going to heaven? How do you know we’re going to heaven? We’ll both go? I am going to heaven? No! I don’t want to go to heaven today."

Oaklynn Alexander begs her father not to send her to heaven as he threatens to shoot them both

Alexander's father, Charles Ryan Alexander, kidnapped her from her grandmother's house in Jefferson County in eastern Ohio on November 11 as he didn't have legal custody. An Amber Alert was consequently issued, culminating in a police chase as he absconded with the child.

Law enforcement officials successfully managed to spike Charles' tires, leading to the horrific stand-off. As heard in the audio, he leveled a gun at the cops while holding his daughter hostage, declaring,

"I will shoot us both, stand back!"

Oaklynn Alexander then began pleading with her father to spare her life, to which he said he doesn't want to go to heaven "either, I just wanted to talk to your mother." A 911 operator then interjects, attempting to coax Charles out of the killing:

"I know you didn't want to hurt [your daughter] and you didn't want it to be like this. Let's not do anything we can't undo."

A second dispatcher also jumps in to de-escalate the situation:

"Just keep talking to her if you don't want her to be scared. Let's not do anything that is going to make it even more unfair to her, 'cause you love her, I know you do."

However, cops eventually had to shoot the father down in front of Oaklynn Alexander's. She was promptly returned to her family, safe and sound.

In the wake of the tragedy, one of the family friends launched a GoFundMe to help with "caring for Oaklynn during her mother's time off from work, mental health expenses, and any additional costs for her future." The page also notes that "Oaklyn recently went through a life-changing experience that will continue to affect her in the years to come," and asked all patrons to help in any way they can.

At the time of writing, the page has raised well over $9000 and is nearing its $10,000 goal with almost 160 donations coming in.
