A vehicle speeding westbound at East Amity Avenue failed to navigate a curve on Diamond Street, causing them to hit a berm on a private yard in Nampa. The car went airborne before hitting the chimney of a home and landing on the rooftop of another. A powerline was struck down in the process, leaving residents with no access to power. The incident took place at around 9:12 a.m. on Sunday.

Per an official news release, the person sitting in the passenger seat, an adult male, was pronounced dead on-site, while the other two sustained injuries. Canyon County Paramedics promptly transported them to hospitals located in Boise. As for the residents, no one was reported to be injured, despite the excessive damage to their homes.

Read the official statement uploaded on Facebook below:

"At 9:12 a.m. Nampa Dispatch received numerous 911 calls reporting a vehicle had left the roadway and landed on the roof of a Nampa home in the 1000 block of E. Amity. Upon arrival, first responders found a car occupied by three adults on top of a house. The investigation is still ongoing, but it appears as though the vehicle was traveling westbound on Amity at a high rate of speed, failed to navigate a curve at Diamond Street, hit a berm in a private yard, went airborne, struck the chimney of one home and landed on the rooftop of a second home. No other vehicles were involved in the crash but there was damage to powerlines, causing a power outage that has since been restored."

The identity of the deceased and the injured have yet to be disclosed, and reportedly, investigations into the Nampa accident are underway. However, no other vehicles were involved. As reported by Idaho News, Idaho Power has been working on restoring access to power in the area, but at the time of writing, about 700 residents are still left in the dark.
