The police reached the scene of the shooting near Atlanta University Center on the afternoon of November 4, 2024, and recovered RT's brother Ba-Kari in critical condition. Later, his mother confirmed that Ba-Kari was hospitalized with severe injuries. After this tragic incident, RT's family started a GoFundMe campaign to fund Ba-Kari's medical needs and repair his house which was destroyed in an alleged vandalism, and make the place handicapped-friendly.

"He [Ba-Kari] has been fighting for his life, undergoing numerous medical procedures, including five surgeries and over 60 blood transfusions. We are incredibly grateful to share that Ba-Kari is now awake and alert," Danyotta Thomas, the organizer of the GoFundMe campaign wrote.

The GoFundMe campaign has raised $20,572 so far of its $40,000 goal. In a recent update, Thomas informed that although Ba-Kari is awake, he still requires a breathing machine to help him breathe.

"Ba’Kari Is Still On The Breathing Machine Still Not Breathing On His Own He Has A Long Way To Recovery." The post further added, "We are incredibly grateful for your support. Your contributions have allowed us to replace essential belongings lost during the vandalism, including clothing, furniture, and medical equipment. Your generosity has given Ba-Kari and his family a fresh start."

Apart from the funds raised through the campaign, Lil RT's friend Twitch streamer Kai Cenat recently donated $16,000 to help RT's family pay hospital bills. Lil RT and Kai appeared on a Twitch livestream on Christmas Eve, where Kai was seen comforting RT and making a donation to help his brother.

"Do you know how blessed your brother is? He's still alive...for Christmas, Imma cover this whole thing, okay?.. Imma give you sixteen thousand dollars to pay for his whole hospital bill. Imma make sure that he's all good," Kai said during the livestream.

Following the shooting, the police arrested one individual; however, no further details have been provided yet.
