Briana Boston, the mother of three who was arrested for allegedly threatening health insurance company BlueCrossBlueShield's customer care representative with the words 'delay, deny, depose,' has now raised over $48,000 on her GoFundMe account.
Daniel Boston, Briana's husband and the organizer of the GoFundMe campaign, states that the proceeds will go towards the bond payment and legal fees.
Daniel Boston commented on the page, confirming that reports about Briana Boston’s legal situation being fully resolved were incorrect. He clarified that 'her legal status has not changed' and the only change was her release from physical custody. He wrote:
"Contrary to some reporting her legal status has not changed at this time, other than she is no longer physically incarcerated."
He also emphasized that he would take down the GoFundMe campaign immediately if Briana is no longer in legal jeopardy.
Briana Boston was charged with threats to conduct a mass shooting, an act of terrorism, and faces up to 15 years behind bars.
In a video shared by an X user, the judge outlined the conditions of Boston's release during a court hearing. The judge stated:
"If she is released, she will be on home detention with GPS. So she won't be released until GPS is provided to her and that will be at her own expense."
The judge then detailed the rules for her house arrest, including strict limitations on her movements and interactions. As stated by the judge, Briana Boston is allowed to leave home only for court appearances, attorney meetings, medical appointments, work, church, and one weekly grocery shopping trip. Additionally, Briana is prohibited from contacting anyone from BlueCross BlueShield, identified as the victim in the case. The judge further emphasized:
"No weapons, no firearms, no ammunition."
However, details regarding Briana Boston's legal status remain unclear. The GoFundMe account created by her husband indicates that she has not been cleared of her charges, while a separate GoFundMe, previously set up by Iryna Lebedyeva, claims that 'the county released Brianna with no charges.'
A former GoFundMe account for Briana Boston claims that she was released with no charges
A GoFundMe account that was set up by Iryna Lebedyeva to help 'Support Briana Boston's Bond Release' and had raised $51,791 was shut down because, according to Lebedyeva, Briana Boston was released with no charges. She wrote:
"Hi everyone, it looks like the county released Briana with no charges, so I stopped the campaign. See here: https://www.polksheriff.org/inmate-profile/2435323 I am looking how to run a gazillion of reimbursements on this platform."
Iryna reassured all donors that she has reached out to GoFundMe to assist with processing refunds.
In the active GoFundMe account set up by Daniel Boston, he expressed his gratitude to Ms. Lebedyeva for organizing a previous campaign to support him. He acknowledged that his earlier statement clarifying that no crowdfunding was officially linked to Briana, led to accusations against Ms. Lebedyeva. He also confirmed that all donations to the GoFundMe have been or will be refunded.
