The Kamala Harris vs. Donald Trump presidential election is inching closer to the end, and in the midst of that, reports are emerging online that the former called Donald Trump to congratulate him on his win. The move allegedly follows Trump's declaration of victory in the election when DDHQ and Fox News revealed that he had surpassed the 270 vote count to win, effectively defeating Harris.

While there is no evidence that confirms the same, given that neither the Harris-Walz campaign nor Trump has concurred, the internet has weighed in. Several online were "shocked" that Vice President Kamala Harris would do that, but others simply dissed her. As one user pointed out,

"Just like Clinton did."

Many more began chiming in with their opinions:

"Was it a real phone call or a pretend phone call?" someone queried.
"Well done on her part if this is verified. That’s more than I expected," another asserted.
"Yup, just like 2016," yet another pointed out.
"Notice how she’s capable of that. Trump still hasnt from last election," another pointed out.

While many express disbelief at the claims, several online weighed in nonetheless.

"I don’t know if I believe this but rare W for Kamala," someone commented online.
"If that’s true, honestly respect," another chimed in.
"Can we watch the scripted call?" someone said, sarcastically.

Kamala Harris poised to lose

According to CNN, at the time of writing, Donald Trump is scaling the ladder to an Electoral College victory, as he is projected to win over the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina. While votes are still being counted, the former president currently stands tall with 266 votes, while Kamala Harris trails with 195.

In speaking to his supporters on Wednesday, Trump pledged to “help this country heal.” He said, at a convention center in West palm Beach, Florida,

"We have a country that needs help and it needs help very badly. We’re going to fix our borders and we’re going to fix everything about our country. It’s now clear that we’ve achieved the most incredible political thing… look what happened, is this crazy?

Trump has yet to bag four more votes to win, according to the outlet, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already congratulated the former President. He took to X on November 6 to pen a lengthy message:

"Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump on his impressive election victory! I recall our great meeting with President Trump back in September, when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine. I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the “peace through strength” approach in global affairs. This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. I am hopeful that we will put it into action together."

The post continued,

"We look forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership. We rely on continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States. We are interested in developing mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation that will benefit both of our nations. Ukraine, as one of Europe's strongest military powers, is committed to ensuring long-term peace and security in Europe and the Transatlantic community with the support of our allies. I am looking forward to personally congratulating President Trump and discussing ways to strengthen Ukraine's strategic partnership with the United States."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also wished Donald Trump on making “history’s greatest comeback.”

According to NBC News, Kamala Harris has won one of five Electoral College votes in Nebraska. This means that a tie in the Electoral College is no longer possible.
