Will Rothschild, a member of the renowned Rothschild family, was identified as the elderly man who died following a fire at a two-story hillside home in the Hollywood Hills on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. According to multiple reports on Wednesday evening, law enforcement responded to the 8500 block of Lookout Mountain Avenue over reports of a house fire. After battling the blaze for 30 minutes, firefighters found a dead man inside the home.

William Rothschild was described by neighbors as a reclusive millionaire who owned several properties and expensive cars. Police did not disclose additional information about the victim. There’s not much known about Rothschild, who appears to have led an extremely private life.

As per Yahoo News, Voter Registration showed William A. De Rothschild lived in the house. His age was listed as 87. However, another website showed that William Rothschild, aged 77, owned the property. It is unclear if Will Rothschild was a direct descendant of Rothschild or was related by marriage. A search in Rothschild Archives did not render any results for William Rothschild. William Lord Brookefiled is the only 'William' listed in the Rothschild database.

William Lord Brookefiled was married to Hannah Mary Rothschild, the daughter of Nathaniel Jacob Rothschild, the billionaire British banker who died earlier this year. Brookfield, an American filmmaker, and Hannah Rothschild were married for six years and shared three daughters, the Herald reported.

Will Rothschild’s death comes weeks after investigators re-opened Model Jeannette Bishop May, Former Lady de Rothschild’s case

Will Rothschild’s death comes weeks after Italian investigators re-opened the investigation into Sir Evelyn de Rothschild’s ex-wife and her secretary’s death, which happened more than four decades ago. Financier Evelyn de Rothschild, one of the members of the Rothschild family, was married to a model Jeannette Bishop May between 1966 and 1971 before they divorced and she married Stephen May.

The former Lady de Rothschild, Jeanette Bishop May, and her secretary, Gabriella Guerin, disappeared during a snowstorm in the Marche region in northern Italy in November 1980.

The women’s decomposed bodies, ravaged by wild boars, were discovered by hunters 14 months later in the Sibillini mountains. For four decades, their deaths have been shrouded in mystery. Early November 2024, Italian chief prosecutor Giovanni Fabrizio Narbone said a double murder investigation into the women’s deaths had been reopened. However, he declined to disclose further details.

Yahoo News reported that Fabrizio spoke to the local media and said,

“We reread all the records, to see if there were any glimmers to assess the existence of contradictions, and we felt that there was a chance of getting to the bottom of it.”

Meanwhile, authorities are investigating Will Rothschild’s house fire, which has triggered a wave of speculation on social media.

“There is a lot that doesn’t really add up,” a social media user wrote.
“House fire? Good way to hide the evidence,” another netizen added.

Rothschild was the only deceased member found in the house.
