Amid the winter season, several counties in Indiana are witnessing heavy snowfall. Due to the snowfall, the condition of roads has worsened, and it has become risky to travel. Therefore, several counties have been placed under an Orange Travel Watch.

An orange travel watch is issued when conditions become threatening for the public living in an area. During this watch travel advisory, the public is recommended to travel only when it is an emergency or essential, such as going to and from work. Businesses, government agencies, schools, and other organizations also must implement emergency action plans.

On the other hand, advisory refers to restrictions on routine travel or activities in areas facing hazardous situations. During a local travel advisory, people must avoid the affected areas.

A warning is the highest local travel advisory in which traveling in the area may be restricted to emergency management workers. During a warning, the local travel advisory individuals refrain from all travel, cooperate with disaster services forces and public officials to execute emergency operation plans, comply with the necessary emergency measures, and follow the lawful directions to identified officers.
