Beau Shroyer, a Minnesota pastor, was killed in an alleged act of violence in Angola, a country in central Africa. Beau moved there to do missionary work with his wife and five kids. While the case was being investigated, days after his death, his wife, Jackie Shroyer, was taken into police custody. Lakes Area Vineyard Church's lead pastor Troy Easton was "heartbroken and in shock," as he announced the same in a statement.

Jackie Shroyer's arrest has devastated the Lakes Area Vineyard Church community. In another statement, Easton informed the community about Jackie's arrest. He wrote,

"As you all know, our community has been deeply saddened by the death of our dear brother and friend Beau Shroyer, who was killed in a violent, criminal attack in Angola, Africa on Friday, October 25."
"Today, our grief and sadness has deepened immeasurably as we’ve learned that his wife, Jackie Shroyer, has been arrested in connection with his death," Easton continued.

He further assured the community that Shroyer's five children are well-cared for. Moreover, they are working closely with SIM USA to seek justice for Beau Shroyer.

"I’m so sorry and simply do not have words to express my disbelief and sorrow about this news. What I can tell you is that the Shroyer children are well cared for and we will work alongside SIM USA and SIM Angola to ensure that continues to be the case. I also want you to know that we will do what we can to come alongside and care for you too."

What happened to Beau Shroyer?

Beau Shroyer, who has allegedly served as a police officer in the Detroit Lakes Police Department and an estate agent in Minnesota, became a pastor a few years back. In 2021, Shroyer and his family moved to Angola to do missionary work, per Detroit Lakes Tribune. Shroyer died in Angola on 25 October.

While his wife has been arrested in connection to his death, his Facebook posts revealed how he and Jackie closely worked in Angola. In one of his posts, he mentioned how he and his wife helped a man get a barber's license in the area.

"I got my first haircut at an Angolan barbershop today. Jackie and I helped this young man get his barber license a couple years ago. It was cool to be his client today. In case you’re wondering, an Angolan haircut costs $0.32."

More details of the case are awaited.
