Chief Marrone attributed the spread of the Hughes Fire to the wind, Deadline reported.
"The fire is being driven by wind, " he said, adding: “The fire is really difficult to contain, although we are getting the upper hand.”
Marrone added that the Hughes Fire was only 5% contained, though virtually no damages were done to any structures or persons. He also added that the work to put out the fires would continue into the night by setting up the perimeter of containment and targeting the hot spots.
A new update on January 22, 2025, at 9:58 pm reveals that the Hughes Fire has grown to 10,176 acres and has been 14% contained. There is no other information available.
