Linda Nolan has passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was 65 at the time. The Irish singer is most known for her role in The Nolans family group, where she performed alongside her sisters Coleen, Maureen, Bernie, Denise, and Anne.
Linda was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, though by 2011, she found out she had beaten it. However, by 2017, she had been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. By 2020, it was revealed that Linda and Anne both had cancer, and while Linda's had progressed to the liver, Anne had breast cancer.
Per Sky News, the Nolans' second-youngest sister, Bernie, also lost her life to the same affliction in 2013 when she was 52 years old. Linda Nolan also lost her husband, Brian Hudson, to skin cancer in 2007. As for Anne Nolan, per the outlet, she is in the all-clear when it comes to cancer.

Nolan and her sisters were in their heyday all through the '70s and '80s, and in an official statement on X, the siblings paid their respects, noting that she was "a pop icon and beacon of hope."
“It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved Linda Nolan. She faced incurable cancer with courage, grace & determination, inspiring millions,” the statement read, adding that she "will never be forgotten ❤️”
Per Nolan's manager, Dermot McNamara's statement, she was surrounded by her siblings at the time of her death, as she was "embraced with love and comfort." Nolan was admitted to the hospital earlier this week for double pneumonia, but she fell into a coma by Tuesday and was forced into hospice care.
"As a member of The Nolans, one of the most successful girl groups of all time, Linda achieved global success; becoming the first Irish act to sell over a million records worldwide, touring the world and selling over 30 million records," McNamara said. "Her distinctive voice and magnetic stage presence brought joy to fans around the world, securing her place as an icon of British and Irish entertainment."
He also reflected on her philanthropic efforts, as during her lifetime, Linda Nolan raised well over £20 million for several initiatives and charities, including Breast Cancer Now, the Irish Cancer Society, and Samaritans, among others.
"Her selflessness and tireless commitment to making a difference in the lives of others will forever be a cornerstone of her legacy," he went on.
Linda Nolan and her sisters are most known for their 1979 disco hit I’m in the Mood for Dancing. Some other famous hits include "Gotta Pull Myself Together" and "Attention to Me."
