Michael Vick has bagged the head coaching job with the Norfolk State. The former NFL quarterback recently got emotional as he was announced as the head coach. While he said he was thrilled to lead young individuals in the community, he also has a daughter who is following down his path and continuing the legacy of football in the family.

Vick is a father of four and is often seen cheering his children on their endeavors.

Vick became a father in July 2002 for the first time as he welcomed his son Mitez with his then-girlfriend Tameka Taylor. Vick and Taylor were high school sweethearts. Mitez is pursuing a career in acting and also went to the New York Film Academy in 2023. He has worked in several short films.

However, after being blessed with Mitez, Vick and Taylor parted ways and the football player then met Kijafa.

Michael Vick and Kijafa welcomed their first daughter, Jada, in October 2004. Jada is the one who is interested in football in the Vick family and is inspired by her father.

The former NFL player also has another daughter, London, whom he welcomed with Kijafa in October 2007. London is 17 and is very keen on pursuing music.

A few years after getting married in 2012, Michael Vick and Kijafa welcomed their youngest child, a son whom they named Michael Jr., in 2017.

Michael Vick gets emotional about his new job

On Sunday, Michael Vick could not hold back tears as he spoke about his new position as the head coach at Norfolk State. During his interview with Fox's NFL pregame show, he addressed how said:

"First off, just, being a big part of Fox Sports and the opportunity."
"I love you guys, I love everybody in this building. And this administration have been amazing to me. This wasn’t easy, bittersweet, but when you got a chance to go, get an opportunity to go lead young men in your community, where I grew up, y’know watching this team, and I wanted them to be assured that they wanted me as the head coach with no [coaching] experience."

An emotional Michael Vick then assured everyone that he was ready to be the coach and he "got what it takes" to do the job. He also mentioned that he has the "right people" around him.
