The videos of the Pacific Palisades fire have taken over the internet, with the new updates around the disaster coming out consistently. The wildfires that impacted Los Angeles County started on January 7 and have displaced thousands.

The devastating Palisades fire also affected a CNN crew on Pacific Coast Highway, who escaped unscathed. In a viral clip, one of the network's teams was captured driving through the blazing Santa Monica Area. One of the crew members even yells out "holy f**k," as the team is attempting to get past the Palisades fire.

For the uninitiated, CNN correspondent Natasha Chen and her team reported on the Palisades fire when the situation got dangerous. The team noticed the flames on both sides of PCH as scorching embers flew over their path. Ultimately, the CNN crew decided to follow an emergency vehicle and made it to safety.

According to CNN, here's how Chen explained their situation,

"We realized there were flames on both sides of the highway. Embers were flying over the road. I spotted an emergency vehicle and decided our best bet was to follow that car as closely as possible. If he's driving, then he probably knows the best way out."

She also added,

"I'm hearing an explosion on my right, houses on fire right up against the road on the left. I'm holding my breath, feeling the heat from inside the car as I watch the embers fly across the windshield. It was not ideal."

Chen's colleague and CNN producer Kat Jaeger claimed that the occupants within the vehicle "felt a concussion while driving past the homes on fire." Although the vehicle wasn't damaged, Jaeger mentioned having "never felt anything like it." (referring to the explosions during the Palisades fire.)

In the viral clip, the crew members were recorded praying for a safe passage, as the surroundings depict a gloomy and horrifying environment. The visuals got many to react on the internet, as some even compared the wildfires and burning surroundings with Hell.

Here are some of the reactions that the CNN crew's viral video got on X:

The disaster's petrifying visuals scared many, as some equated them to Hell. Some X users prayed for the impacted, while others gave their opinions on the video featuring the CNN crew.

"This is simply hell on earth! Meanwhile I'm in frozen snow on the other side of country. I hope they all evacuated," one user wrote.
"Literally Hell on Earth. Omg," another user commented.
"OMG that looks like what I imagine as Hell. I hope everyone gets out safely," someone pointed out.
"This is so devastating. The wind is pounding my windows," someone shared their situation.
"But climate change isn't happening... as the world burns as it freezes," another user called out the climate change deniers.
"so sad – there's nothing that can prepare you for something like this," a user wrote, highlighting the devastation.
"This is horrifying. Some of the most beautiful homes in one of the most beautiful parts of my state gone. These poor people," another user underlined the destruction.
"How awful that @CNN put there employees in danger just to be "first"!," a user accused the network of endangering the crew's lives.
"I'm praying hard for those battling the fires right now in California," someone prayed for those impacted by the Palisades fire.

Fortunately, the CNN crew made it out of the affected site safely. The media team was among the many affected by the wildfires in Southern California that blazed on January 7 at 10:30 am. The Eaton fire also broke out later on the same day and endangered more lives in LA.
