Veteran ABC News anchor, David Muir, is in the news for odd reasons. For the unversed, Muir was recently reporting from the site of LA wildfires while wearing a firefighter's jacket. During the reporting, Muir turned right, exposing a clothespin at the back of his top.

The anchor seemingly used the clothespin to cinch the baggy firefighter's jacket to look better on camera. However, a section of the internet was not quite amused to see Muir being more focused on his looks while he was reporting the wildfires in Los Angeles. One user, @BabySonsie, even wrote sarcastically,

"Gotta have that snatched waistline"

Many trolled or criticized Muir, and here are some of those posts from X (formerly Twitter).

Netizens are not happy with David Muir using a clothespin on a firefighter's jacket while reporting LA wildfires

Most users on X displayed their opposition to Muir using a clothespin on the firefighter's jacket he wore. @CollinRugg mockingly wrote,

"Gotta make sure the muscles are showing while LA burns to the ground!"

Others also disapproved of Muir's actions, as some of them penned:

"100,000 evacuees waiting to see if their homes are still standing and David Muir's like – [Come and see how good I look]," someone used the Anchorman Ron Burgundy meme.
"Nothing about David Muir is real… What kind of a tool uses a clothespin to keep his jacket tight on his body…," another chastised Muir.
"LA is burning and David Muir is concerned about how good his pecs look. Check out those clothespins," a user said.
"He shouldn't have tried turning left," another suggested jokingly.
"Nice Jacket Bro. Glad you look nice and svelte with those clothes line pegs, while our city burns to the ground," @JackOsbourne panned Muir.
"He did the meme," someone pointed out the Simpson clothespin meme.

However, some users tried to defend Muir for one reason or another:

"Anybody who's upset about David Muir having clothespins on his jacket while reporting about the California fires is genuinely a 20 IQ troglodyte," one user said.
"This nonsense about David Muir... Pretty sure those clothespins are keeping his in-ear in place, y'all. Good grief," another user suggested.
"It's probably holding the wire for his microphone so it doesn't swing around to his front. Probably plugs into the battery pack and transmitter," someone said.

Muir is not new to online backlash, as he received heat from pro-Trump supporters in September last year. The ABC World News Tonight anchor was one of the moderators on the Presidential debate between then-candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

Muir and his fellow moderator, Linsey Davis, were accused by conservative supporters of favoring Harris in the debate. The debate was called "three on-one" by some, including Donald Trump.
