A horrifying accident recently took place in Enumclaw, which took away two lives. On Sunday, October 13, 2024, three cars crashed along State Route 410, and its consequences have shaken people. As the crash began with a car in which a 63-year-old woman was traveling, she will allegedly face vehicular charges.

Per Washington State Patrol (WSP), a deadly car crash took place near Enumclaw, Washington, before 11:45 am. Authorities confirmed how the 63-year-old woman's car entered the eastbound lanes from the westbound ones to pass multiple vehicles. However, as she attempted to re-enter the westbound lanes, it collided with another car. The second car, which had a 72-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman, lost control and entered the opposite lane. This further led to another vehicle colliding with the car on SR 410.

The authorities confirmed that the older man and woman from the second car lost their lives following the Enumclaw accident. Moreover, two other people allegedly suffered life-threatening injuries. They were taken to a Seattle hospital by a helicopter.

The first responders to the accident were the bystanders. They tried to save the two victims' lives by giving them CPR. WSP acknowledged their efforts and penned:

"We also want to send a special thank you to all the citizens that were involved in the heroic measures attempting to save the two victim’s lives." "It did not go unnoticed," they added.

What happened after the Enumclaw accident?

As it is being alleged the 63-year-old woman's car caused the accident, WSP claims she might face vehicular homicide charges. However, no drugs or alcohol were allegedly involved in the accident. Therefore, an investigation is currently underway.

The brutal accident near Enumclaw resulted in two of the vehicles falling into a ditch. On the other hand, the first car was found on the south side of the highway.

The brutal collision further led to the route closing for over five hours. SR 410 between Twin Creek Bridge and Mud Mountain Dam Road was closed entirely due to the collision.

Washington State Department of Transportation was continuously updating people about the situation of the route near Enumclaw.

"There's no ETA. When law enforcement is investigating the cause/circumstances of an incident, lanes or the road need to be closed - sometimes for an extended time. A thorough investigation needs to be completed before we are able to reopen the lanes and clear the scene."

The route was reopened on Sunday evening. More details about the crash are awaited as the investigation is underway.
