Content creators Colin and Samir were recently left homeless by the LA wildfire. The Palisades fire destroyed many structures and homes, forcing people to leave their abodes.
Due to the enormous damage, many organizations have stepped up to raise funds for their colleagues and employees. Dude Perfect has also raised nearly $300,000 to support the two fellow creators in their difficult time.
For the unversed, Samir and Colin are known for their business podcast The Colin and Samir Show. They are widely popular among YouTubers and Instagram users. As the two lived in Los Angeles, their homes were engulfed in the wildfire. Therefore, Dude Perfect recently set up a fundraiser on GoFundMe.
Dude Perfect is a US-based sports and comedy group and YouTube channel. It features five friends from college. On their GoFundMe page, they wrote how Samir and Colin lost their homes while being in difficult situations.
"Samir’s wife is 37 weeks pregnant. Colin and his wife purchased their home only months ago. We are heartbroken for them, but we believe in the power of community and are so grateful for your help."
They further penned how the two creators have always been helpful to others.
"They bring happiness to people all around the world, and now it's our chance to help them in a moment of extreme difficulty. We're excited to see how you guys rally for them and their families. THANK YOU for your prayers and donations!"
At the time of writing, the fundraiser raised $300,071 from 1.2k donations. People from all over the world have been donating and trying to make things better for Colin and Samir.
Colin and Samir thank Dude Perfect and everyone who donated to help them
Taking to their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the two creators penned a long note to thank Dude Perfect as well as everyone who helped them. They wrote,
"Hey everyone, Unfortunately both of our homes burned down in the Palisades Fire. The enormity of the loss is very overwhelming. Both of our wives are pregnant and our primary focus right now is getting back on stable ground. We’ll be pausing uploads for a bit while we figure out what’s next."
They further wrote,
"We’re feeling incredibly fortunate for all of the support that we’re receiving. A special thank you to @DudePerfect for their donation and creation of the GoFundMe. We are eternally grateful. At the end of the day, we’re safe and so are our loved ones and that’s what matters most."
Colin and Samir also lauded the firefighters and first responders for continuously fighting the deadly fire.
