With Christmas just around the corner, Santa's probably busy sorting through his naughty and nice list. But this outrageous video of Santa Claus and the Grinch bickering over tips in Mexico might just earn them both a spot on the 'naughty' list!
A video of authorities in Mexico arresting two people dressed up as the Grinch and Santa is going viral. In the video, the cops can be seen explaining in Spanish how the two had been fighting over tips.
People on X are now having a field day in the comments section of this video. One user simply commented:
"Bad Santa 🎅"
"I'm glad Santa was OK, he has a lot of work to get done," joked an X user.
"Deport them back to the North Pole," said another user.
Some users also pointed out that the incident was not just isolated to Mexico. One user said:
"Only in Mexico? I can see that every day at Times Square. Last time I was there I saw Spider-Man fight Deadpool over a dollar"
"This could totally be a New York thing," wrote another X user.
"What do you mean Only in Mexico?," reflected another user.
Commenting on the age-old tradition of The Grinch ruining Christmas, a user said:
"To be fair, the Grinch is just acting the way he is supposed to. Santa should know better."
"I would let go Santa. It can't be his fault? We all know what the Grinch did..," chimed in another.
"The Grinch that stole Tipsmas," chuckled another.
"Parents can tell kids grinch arrested but Santa has to go with police to help out the grinch in jail," wrote a user.
Why did Santa and The Grinch break out into a fight?
In Aguascalientes, Mexico, two street performers dressed as Santa Claus and the Grinch got into a heated argument over tips. While posing for photos with tourists in the city’s central square, tensions flared when one performer grew upset after noticing that his counterpart was receiving more money from passersby. The dispute quickly escalated, drawing the attention of onlookers and prompting them to call the police.
The viral video shared above showed the aftermath, with the police arresting the Grinch, whose heart, it seemed, had remained two sizes too small. Meanwhile, Santa Claus was seen lying on the ground, receiving medical attention before also being handcuffed.
As reported by The New York Times, holiday season crimes, like the brawl between the Grinch and Santa, are far from rare.
Recently in Brazil, two thieves disguised as Santa Claus broke into a store, stealing 33 cell phones, five video game consoles, and a speaker. Meanwhile, in the United States, a high-tech toy company fell victim to a scam, resulting in the theft of three truckloads of merchandise valued at approximately $1 million.
