Amy Armstrong GoFundMe raises over $61,000 after boyfriend admits to killing girlfriend at Brewers Hill apartment

Amy Armstrong, a 28-year-old woman, lost her life after a deadly shooting in her apartment at The Porter Brewers Hill, Baltimore. Following Armstrong's death, her boyfriend Gabriel Gomez-Fiorenza, 27, admitted to killing her amid a domestic issue. While Gabriel is currently in police custody, a fundraiser set for Amy's family has raised over $61,000.

Set up by Delaney Reiff, the GoFundMe page reveals that the funds raised after Amy's tragic death will help her family. The fundraiser's target is to raise $150,000 and at the time of writing the total amount from over 780 donations crossed the $72,000 mark.

"Amy was an amazing daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. She touched so many hearts and lives during her 28 years on earth. We will miss her laugh, her smile, and her big heart forever. If you knew her or even crossed her path once, you know how bright her light shined. Your donation will go towards her celebration of life, to assist in supporting her family, and to causes that were close to Amy's heart," read the statement.

What happened to Amy Armstrong?

Amy Armstrong was found dead in her Baltimore apartment on Sunday. Per the police report obtained by WJZ, Gabriel Gomez-Fiorenza was not at the scene when the police arrived. They found him when officers responded to a call at 1 a.m. as he was in a backyard threatening to kill himself.

According to the report, the 27-year-old told police that he arrived home at around 11 a.m. on Sunday and got into a verbal argument with Amy Armstrong. Soon after the argument, he went into the bedroom to pull out his AR-15 rifle.

He then brought the rifle into the kitchen when he got involved in an altercation with Armstrong. The police reported that Gomez-Fiorenza was trying to shoot himself. However, when Armstrong intervened, the gun discharged and struck her in the head.

"The defendant alleges he was going to shoot himself, but the victim intervened by attempting to get the gun from him while he was holding the gun with his finger on the trigger."
"During which time the gun discharged striking the victim in her head," the report added.

Gabriel has been charged with first and second-degree murder and first and second-degree aggravated assault.

He has been transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. Moreover, he is currently being held without bail.
