GCW wrestler Allie Katch recently suffered a serious injury in the middle of her match with Effy and was rushed out to the hospital in a stretcher. Katch and Effy engaged in a fight in the event's opening bout to decide who would face Mance Warner in the main event. However, the battle had to be called off after Katch seemed to bend her leg in a bad position after a Tope Suicida a few minutes into the fight.

On Sunday, the much awaited GCW event made its return to New York City for The People vs. GCW. Effy was proclaimed the winner, and the event's first match was abruptly canceled after Katch was taken to the hospital. Katch's friend Steph De Lander later informed the fans that Katch broke two bones in her leg and required immediate surgery.

Katch's friend Steph De Lander set up a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to help Katch cover medical bills and other expenses as she will be out of the ring for months following her surgery.

Of its $50,000 goal, the GoFundMe campaign has raised almost $44,000. To aid Katch during this difficult period, a number of other wrestlers sent donations, including Chelsea Green, Liv Morgan, Will Ospreay, Matt Cardona, and others.

Before undergoing the surgery, Katch shared a statement on social media thanking everyone for supporting her. She expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and generosity during this challenging time.

"I feel the love and I am so grateful, it’s the light in this very scary and uncertain time. Forever in debt to Steph for taking care of me and thank you to all who have reached out," she wrote on X.

On Monday, Steph De Lander shared an update on the GoFundMe page, stating that Katch went through the surgery. Later, Katch took to social media to share she was out of danger and has a long way ahead to fully recover.

"I still don’t have many answers, but after surgery today I was walking on crutches, putting on my own pants, and getting to use the bathroom by myself! I am still floored by the support and love and will try to update and get back to everyone. My gratitude is ENDLESS!!!" she posted.

On Monday, Effy won the main championship event against Mance Warner and gave a shoutout to Allie Katch and wished for her quick recovery.
