The private medical jet crash in Philadelphia has left Alexis Lloyd's residence almost shattered. The crash occurred on Friday, January 31, in Northeast Philadelphia in a neighborhood with several residents.
A total of seven people died with nobody on the jet surviving. While the injured are recovering, others, including those who lost their homes, are dealing with emotional loss.
During a conversation with NBC 10, Saleena Temple said that her sister Alexis Lloyd lost her home on Rupert Street and Cottman Avenue as she was only a few feet away from the impact. Temple revealed that Lloyd was cooking in the kitchen when the crash happened.
Her home's windows imploded due to the explosion. She was allegedly bending over to put something in the trash which is why she survived the flying debris. Alexis Lloyd's family believes "god" saved her from the explosion. Temple said,
"She could have been struck by glass."
"We believe in God. So we most definitely believe that, you know, God had hands on her. Yes."
In order to help Alexis Lloyd with the financial strain that her family is going through, Barbara Roque has set up a fundraiser on GoFundMe. So far, Roque has raised over $21,000. At the time of writing, the funds went up to $24,000 from 542 donations. Their target is $35,000.
How will the funds raised help Alexis Lloyd?
On the GoFundMe page, Roque mentioned that Alexis Lloyd and her boyfriend Posquale somehow managed to escape in time. Lloyd's seven-year-old daughter Kennedy was also at her grandmother's place when the explosion took place.
Barbara further mentioned that the funds raised will help Alexis and Posquale with immediate assistance with temporary housing, transportation costs, basic necessities, daily meals, school supplies and uniforms, transportation solutions, replacing essential documents, and possible relocation costs.
She also wrote,
"Today, I spoke with Alexis's 7-year-old daughter, who attends the St. Matthew School on Cottman Avenue. When I asked what she needed most, she said in the sweetest voice, 'What about a new house?' This innocent question breaks our hearts - no child should have to face such displacement."
Alexis and her daughter Kennedy are currently staying at a senior high rise with her mother. Temple also mentioned that Lloyd will need help to overcome the trauma.
