A Coastal Flood Advisory was issued for Camden County, Georgia after high surf and rip currents were reported. According to a National Weather Service report in Jacksonville, Florida, this was to be in effect until 10 AM EST, Sunday, December 15, 2024. Thankfully, there were no major reports of flooding in the area, and the advisory was lifted. Coastal flooding is the deluge of areas by seawater, that are normally dry and are usually low-lying. The reasons for this may be attributed to several causes, primarily including a rise in sea levels along with extreme weather conditions.

This happens when the sea level has risen above the elevation of the land surface, especially in places that are without any barrier protection provided by nature in the form of dunes.

The warnings have been issued across the United States, from flood watches to encouraging residents to be better prepared and more aware of any potential flooding. These advisories demonstrate continued hazards from heavy rainfall, high tides, and other adverse weather conditions.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for southwestern Missouri for the cities of Nixa, Ozark, and Monett, until 7:15 AM CST on December 16, 2024. In the warning published by the National Weather Service, intense precipitation will result in the inundation of places near rivers, streams, and creeks. Stormwater systems can become overwhelmed and result in flooding within cities. Additionally, landslides can happen in hilly areas that have become fully saturated. Avoid driving on flooded roads, residents are advised. Residents also need to stay updated through local media outlets on the current situation. Business and transport disruptions can occur locally.

A Coastal Flood Advisory has also been issued in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. As a result of the high tide, the bad weather is going to result in some inconsequential flooding. Residents should also continue being aware and take or follow those actions recommended by local officials when necessary.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, California, a Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued. Due to the high tide, the bad weather is going to cause minor flooding. The National Weather Service forecasted water accumulation in roads and low-lying areas situated along the coast. Resident preparation and caution are encouraged due to disruptions in the coming day among the affected areas.

A Coastal Flood Advisory is issued for Hollywood, Florida on account of seasonal King Tides that can be expected to create flooding in the low-lying areas prone to coastal flooding. That remains in effect through December 16, 2024. Motorists can use other routes to avoid street areas that tend to flood during high tide events. Meanwhile, the City of Hollywood proactively tries to minimize tidal flooding and its impacts on the city. Please stay updated and plan ahead by viewing one of the city's many flood maps or visiting the city website for more information.
