Réal Andrews is back as GH's Marcus Taggert

General Hospital viewers had a feeling that Marcus Taggert wasn't really dead, and they were right: Réal Andrews reprised the role during Wednesday's episode.

Wednesday's episode of General Hospital has viewers across the country exclaiming, "HA! I knew it!" Just like everyone believed, Marcus Taggert was revealed to be alive, with actor Ral Andrews stepping back into the shoes of the character that presumably kicked the bucket back in March.

This week's exciting episode included key scenes on the pier in which it was revealed that Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) helped fake Taggert's death so he could protect his daughter, Trina (Sydney Mikala), and go underground in an effort to catch Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). While it was definitely exciting to see Taggert back from the "dead," it wasn't exactly a surprise; at the time of the character's on-screen death, Soap Central reported that most fans assumed it was all part of a covert police operation meant to end the mob wars.

Upon his on-air return, Andrews took to social media with the message: "I'm Baaack... Taggert is alive. Thank you so much I am so grateful and appreciate you."

Andrews began playing troubled-kid-turned-policeman Taggert back in 1997 and appeared on occasion until 2003. He returned to GH in January of 2020 in a big way, with Taggert suddenly having lots of major connections to the canvas, including heavy involvement in the show's mob war started by Cyrus, having a history with Jordan, and the big reveal that he was Trina's father. With all the signs of a long-term stint in place, fans were understandably shocked when the powers that be decided to kill him off just over a month after he returned to the canvas -- and that's how rumors started that perhaps Taggert wasn't really dead.

How do you feel about Réal Andrews' return to GH? Are you glad that the show didn't really kill Marcus Taggert? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
