General Hospital fans better get ready for a dose of Spencer Cassadine, because the character's portrayer Nicolas Bechtel has been spotted back on set at the ABC soap opera.
Most kids have headed back to school for autumn, but Nicolas Bechtel did them all one better: he's made a return to General Hospital as Spencer Cassadine.
The always entertaining young actor posted a photo of himself walking onto the set of the ABC soap opera, funny enough with a backpack on his shoulders as if he really is heading to school.

At the moment, it's unclear what storyline Spencer will be involved in when he makes his on-screen return later this fall. The powers that be have some major storylines in store that involve the character's grandmother, Laura (Genie Francis), so perhaps he'll be turning that drama into family drama. Could the little prince be the key to unlocking the true identity of Ryan Chamberlain, who's been masquerading as his twin brother/Laura's husband, Kevin Collins? Spencer and Laura have quite a special bond, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he sleuthed out any possible danger his grandmother could be in.
Bechtel joined GH as Nikolas Cassadine's son in 2013 but left the show in 2016 to focus on his role as Lewie Diaz on ABC's Stuck in the Middle (which has since been cancelled). He returned last spring for a short run and promised upon his exit then that he'd see his GH fans again in the summer of 2018. The hot season has come and gone, but hey: better late than never!
