On the January 6 episode of General Hospital, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) asked Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) what it felt like to be God because he’d saved Lulu Falconeri’s (Alexa Havins) life. Isaiah retorted that any good doctor knows they’re not God and shouldn’t pretend that they are. Recently, reinstated lab technician Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) caught wind of this conversation and immediately tried to set the record straight. Ultimately, co-chief of staff Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) told Cyrus he was no longer welcome at General Hospital. These actions may have just put targets on their backs.
No one is safe
We know that Cyrus injected Sam’s I.V. with an overdose of Digitalis because he had previously flashed back to it. Brad’s rant went on and on, and he referred to Cyrus as an animal and explained to Isaiah how Cyrus tried to have his bestie, Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), killed with the drugs that he was selling on the streets at the time. You could see the anger in Cyrus’ eyes and Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) had to drag Brad away to calm him down. But the vitriol spewed by Cyrus’ gaze spoke volumes: Brad’s probably next on his hit list.

And when Portia told Cyrus in no uncertain terms that he was to leave General Hospital and never come back, the evil glint in his eyes returned. Cyrus had been working on redeeming himself for a long time, but now his true colors are showing through. It’s very likely that he’ll also target Portia, and either she or Brad — or both — will mysteriously turn up dead. And the way he looked at Isaiah says that the good doctor may also now be a target.
It seemed that Cyrus was framing head nurse Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) for the killings, but those may also have been coincidences. Someone is taking Digitalis and using it to murder patients. Doesn’t the hospital have any sort of security cameras or protocols to sign in to med machines for retrieval? This method of murder is using very flimsy soap opera logic, and Cyrus needs to find a different killing tool if he wants to continue without getting caught. Not that we’re rooting for him, but he’s not a stupid guy. He’d want to change up his methods to avoid being the obvious suspect and not be captured. He’d be breaking his early parole and get buried so far in the prison system that archeologists wouldn’t even be able to find him.
But now WSB station chief Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) has spied Cyrus on a satellite image as he stabbed Officer Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) in a secluded area of Rice Plaza. While Brennan didn’t have a super clear image and may not even know who Cyrus is, it won’t take long for the Bureau’s imaging software to match Cyrus, a convicted felon and known criminal.
It’s highly possible that once he identifies Cyrus, Brennan will be the one to take him down, buying him points with both Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), as well as her daughter Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), who was Dex’s girlfriend. It could be a serious win for the super spy.
